Gas Boiler Rip Offs

Seems the £15 a month service charge etc. - or a one off - to make sure your Boiler is all well and good is a rip off. The 'Boards' have new systems waiting to move onto the market, where no Meter Reader etc. etc. are needed AND want as many as possible older models OFF the market. Hence perfectly good and some only needing the slightest of TLC are being wasted needlessly .... AT great cost and PROFIT to those in the trade. Yep Fitters etc. Sellers are all laughing to the bank with wads of our undeserved money!

Point is the Boilers being replaced is a rip off.... 75% or more will go on working for yonks if ALLOWED to. But has opened a inroad for deliberate deceit.

who's replacing the boilers? i know the meters are to be installed into every property, why would u refuse it when its to cut out the estimates, causing unnecessary high or too low bills. Boilers dont need to be replaced unless they are unsafe or parts are becoming harder to replace which normally means at a higher cost, whcih is not cost effective. To be replacing them just for replacing seems an odd project?

Exactly. But it is happening as we speak. The Mandate is to replace as many as possible... any chance. So of course the lads are replacing them whenever they get the chance. Hence why this £15 only service charge! It get's them in the house to have a looksee.... and condemm.

GAS SAFE needs to be made aware of this as that is what they are set up to do. Boilers dont all of a sudden become unworkable or unsafe, and if they are, then they have not been maintained properly, which means that this situation is becoming a forced money spinner. Contact gas safe and report them, b4 too many people get caught out.
