Since it has been stressed time and again not to post threads of this type on the main board , its quite clear that chit-chat threads are being deliberately posted by some on the main board to wind-up moderators. Richard created the chit-chat board to keep the main board free of this.

 

Everyone likes their bit of fun, but I personally am not going to be used on here as a sh*thouse cleaner - moving 8 threads in one night is cleaning up other people's mess - and should messing-up the main board with non-pigeon related stuff happen again I reckon its a case for delete rather than move.

You are right messages should be posted on the right boards, some do get posted in the wrong place and some do off in a tangent for many reason including banter, but we all add our bit in at times, even moderators as well as members.

I notice that you Bruno are threatening to delete, where as other moderators just move the post, what is the Webmasters view on this, or is this just a personal decision.

The problem with the delete buttons you personally then decide what we say and control the forum. On occasions you have been right but on occasions you have wrong in some member’s opinion by removing serious points that you consider out of order.

Moving it allows the conversation to carry on elsewhere where as deleting it wrongly only aggravates the situation

I have asked the Webmaster if it is fair that Moderators should be allowed to wear two hats, a personal one that gets involved in the threads, and then switch it to an official one when they don’t like how the thread is going or questioning their onion

Webmaster has at least two names on here and I hope he uses one for personal views and one for official views.

Accepting a balanced view forum

Some seam to think that banter is ruining the site; where as some think it keeps the site alive

I bet out of the two thousand members you have say ten that banter constantly and ten that complain constantly

Out of two thousand members, we have one thousand that post and one thousand that never post.

And so on, this makes it the well balanced site that all of us enjoy in our own way with a common interest “PIGEONS”

thats right alf one subject would be boreing , but this forum allows a lot of subjects, thats why there is different threads for each one, its all there, but to keep things right they are better in the right one instaed of mixing different subjects all together, theres one for pigeons, chit chat, sales etc  do you think they would make sence if they were all on the one thread, also the matter of deleting, as has been pointed out time and time again, moderators only put posts or threads into a "DELETED ITEMS FOLDER" where the webmaster decides if it is to be deleted or put back on, so if a moderator is right in the eyes of the webmaster it will be deleted or if the webmaster decides its ok then he will put it back on, we are only trying to do a job, and do our best, and most other sites are the same they have different threads for different subjects, and surely its only right if something is in the wrong place, to move it,

True but this thread would have died ages ago, plus I tried to keep it on the portal with some sensible posts to drum up more seats. When the banter starts some of us forget where we are and what posts we are on :-/

no offence alan, but just pointing out what we mean by genuine threads being taken over by banter, this was a genuine member putting on a thread for offering seats on a bus and look what it was turned into, any genuine person wanting to enquire about seats would have to search through the whole thread to try and find something about the bus, some seats have bean taken so getting there, not from the forum, all the best.
