Some of my hens have layed only one egg.Some are yearlings and others are two or three years old.They all seem healthy anough.But I am begining to wonder.Has anyone got thoughts on this. Deb.

had same i threw them out ;) mine were in good health no body fat ideal fer laying , i think there probably less mature than some of other birds ;)

better as a pair :) and i thought the eggs were a little on the small side , so just preference :)

Seriously tho, have had some stotters oot o single laid nests!

One of my section winners was from a hen that laid one egg or several funny sized ones , as said i felt the eggs were on the small side although probably viable i removed after a few days and sat hen on a dummy till 10 days then removed hopefully next eggs will be perfect and a pair ;)

i have had four nest with only 1 egg in and checked them after several days and seem to be full so have left them, the hens are all various ages as well. I didn't know wether to put it down to stress because of the hawk problem i have
