Webmaster Posted August 25, 2008 Report Posted August 25, 2008 We're not for sale but there are changes being made to the 'For Sale' section The ability for anyone to post new topics to the 'For Sale' boards has been disabled. Topics ongoing are not effected (i.e. replies are still fine). We are brining in new rules concerning the sale of birds and other items on the forum, and I'll post up further details soon.

Vallance is just went away and remortgaged his hoose when he seen that heading ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
pjc Posted August 25, 2008 Report Posted August 25, 2008 I hope the changes will stop the constant adds from non contributing members!
ChrisMaidment08 Posted August 25, 2008 Report Posted August 25, 2008 I hope the changes will stop the constant adds from non contributing members! cant see how you could distingqish them they will still come on
pjc Posted August 25, 2008 Report Posted August 25, 2008 Only way would be for advert to be pre approved before going live then admin can block the advertisers who don't contribute and we all know who they are!
grizzle_hen Posted August 25, 2008 Report Posted August 25, 2008 The idea of the new 'for sale' section is that people selling items will be pre-approved before they can sell anything
pault Posted August 25, 2008 Report Posted August 25, 2008 whats up with people selling things on this site as long as they give some money back to the site the for sale section is the best part of this site and the first place i go when i come on
Guest beautyhomer Posted August 25, 2008 Report Posted August 25, 2008 On another forum you have to have at least 50 posts before you can sell anything. This stops people from using the site purely for selling without giving anything back.
retired Posted August 25, 2008 Report Posted August 25, 2008 Vallance is just went away and remortgaged his hoose when he seen that heading ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Lol - Not a bad idea Dovey
pjc Posted August 25, 2008 Report Posted August 25, 2008 there are to many that take paul and don't give either by contributing to the forum or funds. Look at the regular advertisers and see how many donated to pheobe's sale!
billy wilson Posted August 25, 2008 Report Posted August 25, 2008 pjc you hit the nail on the head, people come onto the site just flog a couple of pigeons and are nearly always top prices when they sell never hear of them again unless they want to sell again,i think its right that something has to be changed. billy
pjc Posted August 25, 2008 Report Posted August 25, 2008 some of the sellers are top fanciers and there knowledge and experience would benefit others but they clearly just come on for free advertising. I have nothing against anything being sold and good birds are often made available on here to members. Phil
Guest Posted August 25, 2008 Report Posted August 25, 2008 Excellent idea webmaster about time somebody took control of the for sale section, however i think sales such as phoebe's was an excellent auction and hopefully further support from forum members will be continued over the coming years. May be it should have been turned in to auction format only on the for sale section. Andrew

Andrew yup an auction format would see a normal £35 bird go for double, you'd be quids in , and laughing all the way to the bank ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
Guest Posted August 25, 2008 Report Posted August 25, 2008 yup an auction format would see a normal £35 bird go for double, you'd be quids in , and laughing all the way to the bank I Meant similar format to the recent auctions birds submitted to web admin and then auction is posted every few weeks and managed correctly. Buyers will only pay what they want to pay for a bird or what they are worth. remember that, i will only pay the price which i think is suitable for the pigeon in question.
jimmy_bulger Posted August 25, 2008 Report Posted August 25, 2008 hi andrew. if you going to sort this then it is gonna cost money, so i offer for sale to the highest bidder 3 pair of old birds, MARCEL BRAAKUIS long distance blood buyer to sort carriage. i leave it upto you richard how you want to do this sale all funds go to pigeon basics they are heavy in the moult at the moment jimmy.
jimmy_bulger Posted August 25, 2008 Report Posted August 25, 2008 i spelt it wrong its MARCEL BRAAKHUIS

bewted Posted August 25, 2008 Report Posted August 25, 2008 pity you never had those values when selling. :X :X :X :X :X :X :X :X :X
pjc Posted August 25, 2008 Report Posted August 25, 2008 Not sure an auction format would benefit anybody, pm or e-mail only i think. If its an auction its an auction in aid of something. If it was an auction format we would see which fools are parting with there money from the feather merchants and if I wanted to buy a decent bird i might not want others to see what i'm buying either. Phil
Roland Posted August 25, 2008 Report Posted August 25, 2008 Well I personally don't frouble a truck who sells what and how. Do believe strongly though that a % should go to the Website. Also feel that Name / Strain selling should / could be curbed as it usually means a load of old proven crap being passed on . But then who am I to say oat :-/ :-/
just ask me Posted August 25, 2008 Report Posted August 25, 2008 Not sure an auction format would benefit anybody, pm or e-mail only i think. If its an auction its an auction in aid of something. Phil does that mean u might not credit the win to the person who u bought the birds off
pjc Posted August 25, 2008 Report Posted August 25, 2008 Any wins with others birds are credited to the breeders here, show or race! Many don't!
just ask me Posted August 25, 2008 Report Posted August 25, 2008 Any wins with others birds are credited to the breeders here, show or race! Many don't! ok sound no prob just in your post sounded different me
pjc Posted August 25, 2008 Report Posted August 25, 2008 just ask me, some people don't like others knowing when they buy new stock as they are trying to gain an advantage with better birds etc. Phil
