Just been reading July issue magazine, something which I very rarely do,usually straight into the bin.A GREAT DEAL FROM SKY.As from August 1st.they will be increasing my my download speed to 10Mb, marvellous , because of the distance I live from the exchange the MAXIMUM I can get is 1.2Mb so I'm no better off. They are now because of this GREAT PACKAGE, DECREASING my download from 40 Gig/month to 10 Gig.Thank you for you kind consideration.

Who's your provider, what's your download limt and how much is it.

It's only a couple of month ago that I was saying what a great deal SKY was.Opinions can change VERY fast.

Lindsay C.

PS. In this area there is now NO terrestial TV. Sky are the only provider appart from free view,I see their packages are also going UP from Sept 1st.

Lindsay.

PPS.Do you think your getting your monies worth ie.download speed.Try the link below just done mine I get 824kbs.

I started with Blueyonder which is Virgin now. Slow downloads at busy times so changed to BT. 8mb line with BT but only got 1.3mb. Everytime I complained my speed went to 5mb but after a day or two went back to 1.3mb. I looked at SKY but would have had the same speed as BT so went with o2. Seems o2 is about the quickest broadband about for the price. As I have an o2 phone I get o2 even cheaper, think its about £9 a month but I'm still on my 3 months free at the moment. Oh and I have speeds of 10-11 mb

Must be where you live, i get 9meg download speeds from sky, never had an issue with my broadband, would never go with Aol or bt again after multiple connection issues, And the fact i get everything for free as i work for sky im not moaning.

Granted virgin medias broadband base is probably better than sky at the moment but sky again were voted as the best broadband provider in which magazine this year again. and they are by far the best provider of digital tv anywhere in the uk. they are also a massively thriving company even when the economic climate is the way it is thats says a huge amount about what sky does and the services it provides.

Hi just ask me, your download speed is governed by the package that you are receiving from your provider, at the moment I am on 8Mg,Sky are  going to upgrade it to 10Mg in the near future.BUT it is again governed by how far you are from the telephone exchange and the condition of your connection. In my case I am about 3 mile from the exchange and only get Max 1.1Mg.This will or might vary depending on the amount of users/time of day. There are several speed checkers on Google ,the one I've put the link to is the one I use.Your provider should also have a checker on their site.

Hope that's been of some help.
