im in the middle of planning and building a new young bird loft. its going to be just over 8 by 6ft, with a 4 by 4ft avairy on the front. what nuber of young birds would you guys limit yourself to filling it. cheers

the question you should ask is how many would be a good number to have working with in there

always feel when people say filling it is not a good thing,

to answer your question no more than 35-40

40 would be a max at the start but for racing 30-35

40 for 8x6

ive 11x6 and 50/55 is my top number

which after training can be around the 45/50 mark

i was thinking of around 40-45 see what i have left after training.

Have two eight x six yb sections ,find before training 32 per section spot on ,put extra perches in one section to take more one year will not make that mistake again ,imo if like mine all youngsters and old bird race team are housed under one roof you have to be very careful with overall numbers regarding air quality

it was the over crowding and air quality that made me look for others experience and or opinions.
