HI,PIGEON MAN the insurance is to cover the clubs base unit, incase it breaks down the base unit belongs to the E.T.S. company not the clubs,it is the club that will have to pay ,if you dont

pay the insurance and it breaks down you will have to buy a new one from them as they wont just

give you another one. THANK YOU QUIET-MAN.

The insurance covers the eqipment thats on loan to the club, although its on loan if it breaks down the club is responsible for its repair, but you have a choice weather you have it insured or not,the activation code is given to the person whose name Unikon have on record as being responsible for it,this also tells them how many systems are out there and where.

when the clock frist come to ireland ray knight said if you are the only one with the unikon in your club you got it on loan and if it broke you could take it to the agent and get a new one till they fixed the other one now how told the lies to sell the clock its just got a joke then after most members in are club got they put a £60 insurance fee on :mad::mad:

As I said insurance is optional but I would think that the eqipment wouldnt be cheap, there is no charge for the activation code I was sent our clubs by email, when you think the amount of these systems that are given out free I dont blaim them keeping a check on where they are.

oh i see they're just keeping an eye on their base units...which is fair enough.

still seems some confusion over whether insurance covers breakdowns ? if it does 60gbp sounds about right if it doesn't its expensive JMO :emoticon-0157-sun:

i believe the ets companies advertised that if even one member of a club uses there system, they will provide there club with a club station, so on that then, if a club has 10 members all using the same system and the club station breaksdown then the club still has 9 members enitled to another club station

Not to sure of what the insurance actually covers as I said our club chose not to pay the £60,perhaps there is someone on here whose club as payed it and they could tell us whats covered.

would've thought it was limited to 1 base unit per club

HI,if your club has a base unit thats all you get even if 20 more members buy E.T.S.you only get the one,OUR club paid £65 last year insurance and it will be £65 this year. UNTIL they decide to put it up,our E.T.S.SYSTEM is UNICON ALSO they can tell you every club that has there BASE UNIT,the insurance covers break downs.I would hate to think what the cost would be for a replacement if yours

breaks down and you have not got insurance.

THANK YOU QUIET-MAN.

Interested in the insurance questions, as this is the first I've heard about it. I know that our club officials were looking into purchasing a second Unikon club system a couple of years ago, and they said it would cost £1000. So insurance seems reasonable (safeguard) but annual £60 per annum charge isn't, it's electronic equipment, no moving parts, should be covered by the standard 2 years guarantee, then maybe £60 for 5 years extended warranty.

I got my rings recently the ones with lugs, ring itself 40p, chip £1-34 total £1-74

they call this progress its theft, and another nail in the coffin of pigeon racing

all those that can go back to clocks should do so as a protest.this will happen every

year a hype in the cost of rings.

One day I 'd like to buy ETS as well. I'll just keep waiting 'till one of the manufacturer manage to provide a kind of ETS rings with a HAWK DETERRENTS on it. It makes sense, than keep increasing their price.

i would love to have the ETS system as i think that it is the way forward but i could not afford to purchase 60 ets rings every year for young birds to race............
