sounds like rats chewing holes?? then other varmints taking opportunity. i've got a couple of old chicken sheds that i use and the wood is a little 'tired' i paint the areas likely to be chewed with creo. sub. ( which IMO isn't as useless as people say). are the holes in the floor or sides of loft ??

5 years back had rats chew their way through inch thick ply flooring in my stock loft, laid wire mesh over the existing floor and a false floor put down over that. Had no trouble since.

can you get all around the loft on the outside?...if so a 'quick fix' could be creo. sub. painted just on the first 18 inches so when they chew they don't like it...got to be careful with the creo. sub. read the labels etc..is there anyone that could do it for you??

if i lived closer i'd come and do it for you....make sure to wear gloves and take it steady...you could do inside the loft if easier...i've used it with no ill effects to birds. rememeber your health is more important than a few holes/birds.... good luck :)
