alex young Posted January 4, 2011 Report Posted January 4, 2011 Heard on the news last night beer up 6p due to the VAT increase. This is another nail in the coffin for some pub landlords. The landlord of our club HQ is already finding it hard to keep the pub running, closing early on slack nights to save money on staff wages. We could find ourselves without a HQ. the pub has closed before for the same reason but luckily it was in the off season.Over the last couple of seasons alot don,t stay for a pint after marking is over and now at £2-86p a pint there will be a few more getting off early.
frank-123 Posted January 4, 2011 Report Posted January 4, 2011 the vat rise could do some serious harm to all businesses across the country added to that the price of fuel its a dangerous time and remember labour done the damage when there on spouting there crap on the tv
THE FIFER Posted January 4, 2011 Report Posted January 4, 2011 Heard on the news last night beer up 6p due to the VAT increase. Our club has lost two licensed HQ,s and we are at present having to look for premises, the later to close is still there lying empty so we are still getting the use of our out building, but for how long,as the building is up for sale,
OLDYELLOW Posted January 4, 2011 Report Posted January 4, 2011 think most clubs are having same problems our HQ keeps closing but same as fifer we kept using outbuilding sometimes with a generator , i think fanciers are the own worse enemy at times , its time to pull together to cut costs too many small clubs and Feds and a lot could combine and go down road together race as one club have sections in there own clubs if that's what they wanted but if nowts done in next 10 years I doubt anyone be racing without travelling miles to get to a basketing centre
frank-123 Posted January 4, 2011 Report Posted January 4, 2011 VAT is 21.5% here. our diesel is £1.27 a litre what is it in ireland?
