FUGARE 2011: 1st International Racing Pigeon Show.

 

Fugare...

 

...means “to take flight†in Latin; a good name for a sport show that is flying high!

 

Conversations with suppliers, clubs and breeders in the racing pigeon world convinced us that it is high time that Belgium had its own top level racing pigeon show:

 

FUGARE 2011, the 1st International Racing Pigeon Show! The first edition is scheduled for 19 and 20 February 2011 in Kortrijk Xpo (.

 

An ideal location in the epicentre of the pigeon world:

 

Belgium, where pigeon racing originated, has over 40 000 pigeon fanciers and no less than 30 000 of them live within a radius of 100 km around Kortrijk, in addtion to the 10.000 fanciers in the North of France. Kortrijk also straddles Flanders and Wallonia and is just 20 km from Lille and Tournai, and 250 km from Paris, Amsterdam, Cologne and Luxembourg. England is not far either: just a short Channel hop to Calais or a Eurostar ticket to Lille. FUGARE 2011 has everything it takes to be an international fair for pigeon fanciers

 

The right time:

 

18 & 19 February is an ideal period. Pigeon fanciers are beginning to feel that spring in the air and are eager to get started again. It is also an ideal time to sell young pigeons.

Large car parks are available on the Kortrijk Xpo campus. Parking costs just 1.50 € per day.

 

Shuttles are available to the new shopping mall ‘K’ in Kortrijk, for the partners of the visitors.
