Lettin Young Birds Out?

How old should a young bird be untill you let them out to fly? Just had my two white fantails hatch this weekend just gone =] and also to my surprice noticed my racer pigeon has also laid two eggs!! All happening in the loft atm!

i have sometimes left yb,s with parents and let them take yb,s out through open bowel. left to it they do a better job than me at getting yb,s settled
