DAVIDL Posted October 21, 2008 Report Posted October 21, 2008 Quoted from DAVIDL have to dissagree with you there...like gangster said...pitbull second to none... This seems to have taken the best dog to protect your loft to the best fighting machine :( :( Pitbulls are banned because they are exactly that, pitbulls are like lurchers they are cross bred for a purpose and the mixes are numerous, they are mostly bull crosses bred to do a certain thing fight, problem is not all the pups in the litter have got what it takes so they are sold off as pets or guard dogs with the inbred fighting instinct, some make cracking pets but in the wrong hands can be a time bomb waiting to go off Dog fighting can be done in weight categories so they breed the dogs to fit the category the same as pedigrees are bred to a standard. It is as complicated as pigeon racing, winning bloodlines changing for vast amounts of money, good breeders producing good stock, back garden breeders, organised stud farms selling as much as they could :-/ It's not the dog in the fight, it's the fight in the dog 8) when saying a.p.b.t. is second to none...did not just mean for its fighting ability. a pitbull is mostly just associated with being an out of control monster by the uneducated amongst us,and a large number of people including some police do not even know what a pure pitbull looks like, they assume an english bull terrier is a pitbull. these dogs do make loyal pets if treated right, its the scum people who use them to fight that should be punished...but what happens is the usuall thing the authorities take it out on the dogs.... >
gangster Posted October 21, 2008 Report Posted October 21, 2008 having owned and bred them im more than educated in the breed and the pitbull type could be used 2 take innocent dogs as the law has done over the years and media hype and idiots never helped the breed..

DAVIDL Posted October 21, 2008 Report Posted October 21, 2008 Bad dogs are usually in the hands of bad owners too many get them for the image they give but dont know how to control them it amazes me how i see gangs of youths on street corners with pitbull types encouraging them to fight and the police do nothing...but resposible owners are getting them took off them and they are destroyed just because they are p/b type...... this does happen....

roy rogers Posted October 22, 2008 Report Posted October 22, 2008 Why have to feed and clean up behind a dog, they are not the best deterrents to guard your lofts, I've found the best as you put it! "Guard Dogs" are in fact Geese ( usually kept in a trio ) that a boy and two girls, cheap to feed they also keep the grass down and you can have a return when you sell their offspring the following year. If your not too interested in that idea, send me a sae and I'll send you a photo of the wife, that will scare the life out of the meanest beast's , pin it to your loft door and newt will go past it. I'll assure you, in a way she was very simular to the dogs always snarling, untidy about the house and only came into season once per year usually when she wanted something, god bless her. Take heed you youngsters, laugh you may well do but be warned as sure as eggs are eggs your times coming son, If you reading this petal, put the kettle on I'll be downstairs in five minutes, oh and warm my slippers chuck! See wot you have to do, to keep em sweet?RR.
Guest Posted October 22, 2008 Report Posted October 22, 2008 This thread was originally best dog for guarding my birds now my question is guarding them from what because in some cases the birds need guarding from ourselves ie not returning fast enough so put in the pot, constantly forcing medications down them that they dont want and in a lot of cases dont need, forced to take a mate they dont want then forced apart for a week or so , food for thought but just an opinion
