Guest puresoontjen Posted November 28, 2008 Report Posted November 28, 2008 can anyone tell me the correct dowel spacing for section fronts please 2 inch
Guest joshdonlan Posted November 28, 2008 Report Posted November 28, 2008 as small as possible mate, my blakes ones on the doors are too far apart and my rollers can get out, so im putting mesh on. Also the closer the better as keeps vermin out and also ybs maybe able to sneak through. Josh
Guest shadow Posted November 28, 2008 Report Posted November 28, 2008 no more than one and a half inchs as sparrows will get in

Josh I went to look and hopefully purchase a blakes loft today, it does seem the dowel sectioning is somewhat wider than mine is but ok for racers.
DAVIDL Posted November 28, 2008 Report Posted November 28, 2008 depends on what size dowel you are using...i used 14mm dowel and did one and a half inch centres...
OLDYELLOW Posted November 28, 2008 Report Posted November 28, 2008 he was refering to inside id go inch and a half
Guest Posted November 28, 2008 Report Posted November 28, 2008 for inside the loft 1"to 2" ins front of loft 2" with 1/2 weld mesh to keep out unwanted guests
Guest Grasshopper Lofts Posted November 28, 2008 Report Posted November 28, 2008 yeah sorry its for inside using 12mm dowel
Guest puresoontjen Posted November 28, 2008 Report Posted November 28, 2008 2 inch i do have 2inch i just measured the dowl space thats on a blacks loft but iv put a 3foot wide 6foot high wire mesh walkway on the front of the loft which is 40foot just to stop any thing geting in all sealed tight
Guest IB Posted November 29, 2008 Report Posted November 29, 2008 Think nowadays it does'nt matter the distance between dowel centre points, the important thing is that there is 1/4 inch x 1/4 inch wire netting in front or behind it to keep the animals that belong outside, outside.
ally mac Posted November 30, 2008 Report Posted November 30, 2008 Do you think dowel is better than mesh for inside, for the section fronts etc?
wilkins Posted December 2, 2008 Report Posted December 2, 2008 dont matter as you should cover them with wire mesh anyway to keep vermin out, agree with ib
Guest Grasshopper Lofts Posted December 2, 2008 Report Posted December 2, 2008 Do you think dowel is better than mesh for inside, for the section fronts etc? i personally prefer it to mesh i feel it want damage the birds flights as mesh would and it look better
