Surrey Flyer Posted December 9, 2008 Report Posted December 9, 2008 Hi, I have had my lofts now for three years, one of them requires a new roof, at present it has 1/2 inch chipboard, which i will remove. The problem is, should i replace it with 3/4 inch ply or OSB or any other boarding, advise please would be extremely helpful. Thanks Bob
Guest joshdonlan Posted December 9, 2008 Report Posted December 9, 2008 Have you thought of Onduline sheets. They look very good. Josh
OLDYELLOW Posted December 9, 2008 Report Posted December 9, 2008 marine ply is the best but if your replacing the roof you may consider putting some perspex on it as well to let the sun bring your birds into form , heat = form
andrecrock Posted December 9, 2008 Report Posted December 9, 2008 marine ply will last the longest, make shure you got enough support cos it is very heavy stuff. andrecrock
DOVEScot Posted December 9, 2008 Report Posted December 9, 2008 OSB is the best if you are going to cover it, you get different grades you want dense close pressed type, Marine ply is a lot more expensive and will need sealed or covered
Guest joshdonlan Posted December 9, 2008 Report Posted December 9, 2008 I will ne re-roofing my old loft with Onduline. It comes in coloured and also clear.

ribble Posted December 9, 2008 Report Posted December 9, 2008 Rather than replace i would just put it down over what is there all ready, at lot easier.
