How Big Are The Sections In Your Loft

 Share

Recommended Posts

I've got 3 widowhood sections 8 boxes in each, corridor runs through the front wen the doors are shut to each section the sections are about 6 x 3

we have 3 sections mate and to be honest mate that 6x 3 is plenty enough as the cocks should be resting in there boxes so dont need that much room but 8 in there is great

Yes tommy, all widowhood hens are locked in boxes, and only get out on a Friday night before basketing the cocks, then left in the widowhood section till the cocks arrive home on the Saturdayhttp://forum.pigeonbasics.org/public/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif

Guest mick bowler

2 - 6 x 6, one with 16 hens, one with 16 cocks, although the cocks section only has a depth of 4ft due to the boxes.

A 9 x 6 for 40 youngbirds.

A 12 x 6 for 12 pair stock.

Mine is divided into 5' x 5' sections all adjoining & connected to one another:-

2 sections for 20 hens (winter) or 30 YBs.

3 sections for 20 cocks (winter) or 20 pairs.

Short corridor 5' x 5'.

Aviary approx 16' x 10' which includes the trapping area.

All birds have access to all areas.

20ft loft, 3 sec's 8x6 50YBd's 6x6 8 nest boxes, 6x6 8 nest boxes, approx 10 pairs of Stock share these 2 sec's, door open in between. There will be no yb's in here next year.

Racing loft is 16x8 open plan, next season i will have approx 38 pairs of natural racers in half size (hen) boxes.

There will be about 52/56 boxes available and 60 perches.

Darkness loft is 8x6 and i've had 50/60 yb's in it for racing up to now, but will use it for 50 naturals next year.

60/70 perches.

No doubt i will change again for 2012
