Guest maiden heaven Posted October 27, 2010 Report Posted October 27, 2010 JUST WANTED TO ASK IF ANYONE COULD PUT ME ON TO SOME BREEDERS IN REGARD TO OBTAINING INDIAN FANTAILS.PREFERABLY WHITE, OR TAILMARKED WHITES.AS THEY ARE FOR PRESENTATION.A COUPLE OF BREEDERS CONTACTED TO DATE SEEMED RELUCTANT.NO HIDDEN AGENDA ON THIS, I MUST STRESS.NOT LOOKING TO GET INTO SHOWING OR ANYTHING.ALTHOUGH WE'D EXPECT THE BIRDS TO BE QUALITY AND HEALTHY,BUT DONT NEED TO BE SHOW SPECIMENS. NOT INTO APPROACHING DEALERS, BUT GENUINE FANCIERS!!!
Guest peter4pm Posted October 28, 2010 Report Posted October 28, 2010 you will find with some breeders that they dont want to sell anyone quality birds unless they no that the person genuinly wants them to breed for showing purposes ...personaly i find this wrong , as showing isnt everyones cup of tea and it shouldnt stop people from being able to obtaine quality stock.....i myself found this out too in the past with a couple of ghent breeders i contacted a number of years ago..again reluctant too sell or they wanted silly prices ...again wrong in my opnion .... good luck with your search my friend

Guest maiden heaven Posted November 8, 2010 Report Posted November 8, 2010 you will find with some breeders that they dont want to sell anyone quality birds unless they no that the person genuinly wants them to breed for showing purposes ...personaly i find this wrong , as showing isnt everyones cup of tea and it shouldnt stop people from being able to obtaine quality stock.....i myself found this out too in the past with a couple of ghent breeders i contacted a number of years ago..again reluctant too sell or they wanted silly prices ...again wrong in my opnion .... good luck with your search my friend Thanks for reply , and more especially yourself Peter.I wanted to stress that I was'nt trying to get in the backdoor to Show Indian Fantails, as some people mislead who they buy from, and next thing they are out showing the birds they bought for their wee son /daughter who just wanted a few wee birds. So being straight about it, whether that is right or wrong, thats what I will do.Paramount to everything is the birds welfare, and with ourselves, this is number one. When I kept Rough Collie show dogs, I had people say they just wanted a wee Lassie dog, low and behold, no time there out showing, after picking the puppy at a low price, as it was supposably to be a pet.I'll get them anyhow, but I feel this is so shallow.I would'nt be looking them for free, it was just to stress also that they did'nt have to be of top show quality, but good enough for my purpose. Cheers to all!!!!!
