ive got the same type of floor in my loft and after it had down for a few weeks it started to darken,i think that is what makes it look damp.your loft and floor look very clean i can tell you look after your birds very well.just as a matter of interest what have you put on the walls is it some kind of insulation to keep out the cold.

its what you call 1L1 it keeps out the condensation.also covers the brick walls.

its very hard to keep your loft bone dry in these damp conditions

all i do is brush some lime on the floor and nest boxes . not to much though

the dust gets in the birds eyes and throat make sure there in another compartment

when you do it

yeah its on 3 " bearers thats on dpc and the concrete floor under neath it also built on dpc.so if damp gets through that then am fooked  :)

Just tuned into thread for the 1st time. Know the question is on dampness, but the bit that worries me is the size of the mesh which looks like 2"? If so it's not vermin-proof, it needs to be 1/2 inch max., or less.

On dampness, if that's tin-foil or radiator-reflector you've on the walls then in certain conditions you'll get condensation on it, with water running onto the floor.

totaly agree

if there was damp the perches would show it (bone dry)

;Dwould suggest a path to loft ,staging and airflow beneath loft ,to prevent any dampness entering loft  ;D                  andy.

i will be puting a path in to loft once i have built the platform  :) as for air there is 3 parralle walls so has air flow underneath wheres dampness going to enter beyond me  ;D ;D ;D ;D

I theres no dpc between the blocks and the timber suporting your loft and no guttering on the front of your loft so any rain running off your roof will blow straight into your loft and dampness will work its way in.but you could use deep litter to hide it  ;D ;D ;D ;D

dpc above the the breeze block wall yes the lack of guttering is a problem but not causing damp to loft its more like a bog geting in and out which will be rectified, my deep litter hides nothing nice and dry , it used to be bianco'ed every other day
