chris h Posted February 1, 2009 Author Report Posted February 1, 2009 ive got the same type of floor in my loft and after it had down for a few weeks it started to darken,i think that is what makes it look damp.your loft and floor look very clean i can tell you look after your birds very well.just as a matter of interest what have you put on the walls is it some kind of insulation to keep out the cold. its what you call 1L1 it keeps out the condensation.also covers the brick walls.
The Navigator Posted February 1, 2009 Report Posted February 1, 2009 Nice loft, but why did you not put it off the floor. Or is it!!!

Guest kev d Posted February 1, 2009 Report Posted February 1, 2009 its very hard to keep your loft bone dry in these damp conditions all i do is brush some lime on the floor and nest boxes . not to much though the dust gets in the birds eyes and throat make sure there in another compartment when you do it
The Navigator Posted February 1, 2009 Report Posted February 1, 2009 put what off the floor? Is the loft on bearers or floor right on concrete floor.

Guest IB Posted February 1, 2009 Report Posted February 1, 2009 Just tuned into thread for the 1st time. Know the question is on dampness, but the bit that worries me is the size of the mesh which looks like 2"? If so it's not vermin-proof, it needs to be 1/2 inch max., or less. On dampness, if that's tin-foil or radiator-reflector you've on the walls then in certain conditions you'll get condensation on it, with water running onto the floor.
Guest anto Posted February 1, 2009 Report Posted February 1, 2009 some people need eyes tested a couple of wet patches on the floor after cleaning out the floor looks good and dry would like 2 c some of your floors loft looks great chris and the birds look 2 be in good health well done

Guest Posted February 1, 2009 Report Posted February 1, 2009 http://s328.photobucket.com/albums/l323/OLDYELLOW1/ quite a few pictures on there deep litter tho but 100% dry ;Dwould suggest a path to loft ,staging and airflow beneath loft ,to prevent any dampness entering loft ;D andy.

OLDYELLOW Posted February 1, 2009 Report Posted February 1, 2009 ;Dwould suggest a path to loft ,staging and airflow beneath loft ,to prevent any dampness entering loft ;D andy. i will be puting a path in to loft once i have built the platform as for air there is 3 parralle walls so has air flow underneath wheres dampness going to enter beyond me ;D ;D ;D ;D

Roland Posted February 1, 2009 Report Posted February 1, 2009 White for surrender eh! Umm err... Well that be as it may, but what really puzzles me is who would want to fly a flag that colour :-/ :-/ :P ;D ;D :o lol

OLDYELLOW Posted February 1, 2009 Report Posted February 1, 2009 yup front looks wet i washed the traps with the hose just before picture ;D ;D ;D ;D
