hi tommy,i think you supposed to turn it on 10 mins before you let the birds out then turn it off when you let them out, turn it back on if you see hawk while birds are out side the loft.

Well i hope they make a difference lads, we need something to protect the birds from the bestards.  :P

Had one circle the birds the day when cleaning the loft out, the only advanged the birds had was the were all over the place, then percy tried to get them into a batch, no success, i was clapping mad at it, then it disapeared away from the loft.  :)

if every fancier took note and used the jacket on selected birds there would be no trouble from hawks.. but do fanciers listen and take advantage of good sound advice nope they do not now i have and am not being hit? anymore jacket missing no hawk simple as that

Total newbie question Alert...

Can someone please explain what type of lights you are talking about? And what is meant by "jacket"?

My impression from discussions here in North America is that tsykes is right about a BOP making a kill if it really wants to. That is why I have read posts talking about a BOP taking a bird right off the loft with the guy standing there yelling and jumping around like an idiot. If they are hungry, they will go for it.

I am curious though. If it will give the birds an extra chance, it is worth looking at.
