Guest Davy Fleming Posted September 1, 2010 Report Posted September 1, 2010 Does anyone on here know anything about Post Office rules and regulations. I,E, Sent £200 quid to A MATE IN NORTH OF ENGLEND FOR LATE BREDS AND WHILST THE POSTMAN ORIGINALLY DELIVERED THE LETTER BUT HAD TO RETURN IT TO THE SYSTEM BECAUSE NO ONE WAS IN TO RECEIVE IT AS IT WAS A recorded AND Had to be signed for IT HAS NOW BEEN LOST. They are now telling me that I need to fill in a form to complain but noticed on the bottom of my receipt that they won't pay out as compensation for money jewellery and valuables. SO WHAT WAS THE POINT IN SENDING IT RECORDED. COMON ALL YOU BRIGHT SPARKS TELL ME WHAT TO DO

COMON ALL YOU BRIGHT SPARKS TELL ME WHAT TO DO you maybe in a bit of bother there mate you should have sent special deliveryas recorded mail is classed as one step above first class mail but not of any valuespecial delivery will guarantee up to a certain amount of valueex postieB)
Guest Davy Fleming Posted September 1, 2010 Report Posted September 1, 2010 THESE RECORDEDS ARE SUPPOSE TO BE SIGNED FOR AS WELL THROUGH THE PROCESS THOUGH. ONCE IT GOES AWAY FROM THE OFFICE IN THE MAIN DELIVERY OFFICE IT NEEDS TO BE SIGNED FOR FROM ALL CONCERNED UNTIL IT REACHES IT'S DESTINATION
billt Posted September 1, 2010 Report Posted September 1, 2010 Are you saying you sent cash? If they are admitting they failed to deliver as no one to sign and then lost surely they must be liable to compensate
frank-123 Posted September 1, 2010 Report Posted September 1, 2010 THESE RECORDEDS ARE SUPPOSE TO BE SIGNED FOR AS WELL THROUGH THE PROCESS THOUGH. ONCE IT GOES AWAY FROM THE OFFICE IN THE MAIN DELIVERY OFFICE IT NEEDS TO BE SIGNED FOR FROM ALL CONCERNED UNTIL IT REACHES IT'S DESTINATION recorded mail goes missing it was not such a big deal but you made sure you never lost a special Are you saying you sent cash? If they are admitting they failed to deliver as no one to sign and then lost surely they must be liable to compensate only up to a certain amount read the small print
Guest Davy Fleming Posted September 1, 2010 Report Posted September 1, 2010 Yes I sent cash ( IDIOT) So don't bother saying it. I have the receipt and my mate has the card to say they called but as it had to be signed for they put it back in the system what ever that means now they can't find it and now lost. So someone has just stolen £200 quid and they won't do anything about it
JohnQuinn Posted September 1, 2010 Report Posted September 1, 2010 Phone the polis and report it stolen!!
Guest Davy Fleming Posted September 1, 2010 Report Posted September 1, 2010 Unfair to say who I sent it to but will say he has within the last year retired as a CHIEF INSPECTOR
Guest bigda Posted September 1, 2010 Report Posted September 1, 2010 most lost mail, goes back to a place in belfast where it is delt with,
JohnQuinn Posted September 1, 2010 Report Posted September 1, 2010 You'd be as well sending another 200 cos you'll wait a lifetime to see this 200 again
THE FIFER Posted September 2, 2010 Report Posted September 2, 2010 cash should be sent by registered post, so could be a problem claiming it m8, I know recordid delivery should get there, normally if no one is in they put a slip through the door for you to collect at the local sorting office.and costs you a £1 i think, which would be worth it in this situation, but recorded delivery shouldnt go astray,
Wiley Posted September 2, 2010 Report Posted September 2, 2010 Sounds like your post mans from east london, had people send me money for birthdays ect same thing happened,
Guest strapper Posted November 26, 2010 Report Posted November 26, 2010 davy m8 i believe it maybe as little as £25 compensation for the loss.to me ..thats a kick in the bqlloc ks.i strongly believe any loss through recoreded or similar should be comp to the full amount..as how can they lose recorded delivery ?surely its a service thats special and not heaped up with loads of other mail as normal delivery would be.also if its returned to the post office then it wouldnt be with loads of others as they would have been delivered.
bigjamie Posted November 26, 2010 Report Posted November 26, 2010 hi i sent money special delivery it cost an extra 5pound 5pence the person is ment to get it the next day which he did they give you a receipt that is your insurance if it goes awol you should still get your money mate once its in there hands they are responsible for it i would go further mate 200 pounds a lot of money
