I friend has bought quite a few from Natural Breeding Station over the years. As far as I know they looked the part but when the chips asre down they have been usless.

Put it this way, I would certainly not spend anything there. If I want to buy in, which is as rare as rocking horse poo, I would only buy proven birds on the road. Why would you buy anything else?

Think Paulo on here bought some last year, he might be a good one to ask?

HI I went over in 2009 on Joyce Brown from Seahams trip. I had to pre order in advance and the familys I chose were:-

1. Van Dyckes

2. Soojtgens

I ordered 2 YB's in total and got one from each strain. I paid £25.00 each but there was an admin fee for picking up so ended up £60.00ish for both pigeons. I picked them up and the Van Dycke was a grizzle cock which I found a bit of a downer as never have much luck with grizzles and wanted a nice chequer like Kannibal preferably. The Soojtgen was a chequer. First impressions where they were healthy but didn't have the weight I normally like on a freshly reared YB. I like my YB's out the nest to fill the hand little fatties as my dad calls them. I was on the verge of complaining as they were a bit strong on the wing as well but Brian Simpson who was on the trip with me looked them over for me (09 was my second year of full flying) and confirmed they seemed to be disease free so I though screw it for the price I'll gave them a go.

On returning home I settled both pigeons successfully without loosing them and then proceeded to train. I lost the grizzle van dyck training which was a shame as he was a nice looking cock. The soojtgen lasted the course but won out despite me winning quite a few YB turns like I usually do.

This year the remaining Soojtgen hen was raced on roundabout and won nothing despite being along the first 10 birds back until I had her on eggs for the WDA Clermont National she was in great condition and really keen. She came like a rocket and took 1st club, 3rd fed and 34th West Durham Amal. Was only bird back in club time.

Moral of the story you pay your money and take your chances. I brought 6 YB's in belgium the most expensive a direct Maurice Mattheuws off his widowhood cocks won nowt and the least two expensive one off the market and this one from Natural chalked. Like Maurice said when I was picking take your time there are no guarntees.

I would try them at natural again as they will have some quality bloodlines there and they are cheap enough to try out racing without being terrified of losing them.

I raced these in my YB bird team in 2009 and lost the grizzle van

The natural breeding station is no better no worse than any other stud. Its the luck of the draw what the purchase wins doesnt win.I read todays BHW and see the auction season begins Rosieliegh lofts tells us they must cut down yet 52 of the 74 lots were born in 2010.The solution looks pretty plain to me dont let em hatch.Dont forget some fanciers couldnt get lassie to give them a paw.So it might not be the birds to blame.
