well ive just had great news ... my missus is agreeing for me to build a loft in our new house as long as it looks the part !!! ... i agreed with her it would be and im going to do only a stock loft out there ... my back is a nice back but strange...we have side door entrance  which is a start and our back is very wide mouthed back ... hard to explain but like this /\ but very large width ...im thinking of a large stock loft and that way ive more room down my ma s back.... id say my partner will be happy to hear this ... im going hopefully do it all inthat plastic that looks like turn and groove ... so how much people think it will cost and also how many boxes im going to get in loft and how big i want the loft ..... mmmmm lots to think over when i get back from blackpool....mikey (dublin , ireland)

yeah i see what you are saying mate ... nice aviary on the front there would be handy for the birds ...its a must for baths etc ...cant wait but hopefully my partner be willing to build it for us as he is very good at building lofts...he even built my loft thats in my ma s back garden ... ive 5 empty sections down there and i dont mind the sections being empty but as long as they are there when i need them .... mikey... i understand but ill never overcrowd as the birds will just leave and wont want to come back i n my eyes .... i believe that they have plenty of space ... mikey...

Great news Mikey. Find out what your wife would like it to look like....give her some input. I did the same, and the good lady agreed to 4 lofts......but she had her say in them all ( with a little guidance of course !! ) Best wishes for the construction !! :);)

hi gladdo

upvc cladding ok, but u will need to line the inside

as it tends to cause condensation ,tried it once but needed

a vapior barrier inside then thin plywood lining,i fitted windows

at the time so got it very cheap, and it looked the bees knees.

Keep the misses involved mate, and run any ideas past her and try show her drawings or pictures of what it may look like.  i did that with my loft in my back garden, and although not exactly how i would have done it if it was totally up to me, i ended up with the right size loft that works.  because i involved her from the off, she has just agreed to a small stock loft as well.  oh happy days
