i have a yb thats about two months old, it was in with the old birds and out flying, i noticed 1 day last week it was rattling just a tad when i held it in its breathing, its droppings are perfect, so i gave it to my father and he liberated it 40 miles away on sunday, and when i came home it was on the loft mon evening, it hasnt bn trained b4 or wasnt flying much around the loft due to its age, im thinking is there a cure for this, id like to save it

i think the rattling is the least of your worries!..why are you taking a bird 40mls without it even flying very much around your loft nevermind training.

a young bird that has some sort of illness should be ether killed or put away on it,s own and treated. what happens if it ended up in someone else's loft takes a drink your diseased bird has now passed on to some other fancier birds the disease it has.

wether ill or not you should not be dumping any problems on other fanciers who may get this bird in.

Have had to read this thread a couple of times just to make sure I had it right.

Couldn't agree more. First only healthy pigeons should be trained and second, only youngbirds that are experienced (have been previously trained out) should go to 40 miles. The treatment of this young pigeon has been nothing short of disgraceful.

This is what gives pigeon fanciers a bad name first the bird is seen to be ill and taken 40 miles in the hope it gets lost but because the bird makes it home he wants to cure it would have been better asking for advise first
