Dipping Pigeons

Has anyone used harka-mitex to dip birds for lice ?. Corn shop i go to said i could use it says not to use on birds

if it says not to use on birds it will be for good reason i would say, possibly to concentrated for the birds but thats only my thoughts, try johnsons lice n mite spray does the trick for me, there are hundreds to choose from that work equally as well

I have used that years ago but not sure about this stuff, as dnt no how much to put in water thanks anyway

i dipped mine up to neck in duramitex and defo clear them of lice but birds looked a bit off the next day but no lasting affects what i can see of all look fine now so will use it again.

duramitex is as good as anything

CHLORACARB,have used this product for years,excellent results.

Alec you are smack on with that one CHLORCARB. I have used this for about 20 years and only ever use it once per year and NEVER had a problem. I put contents into a bucket and fill it with luke warm water and dip the bird by spreading each wing for about 2 secs and that's it. MAgic

I thought duramitex had been banned we cant seem to buy it locally. Banned because off substance abuse not beacause it harmed the birds. It smells teribble but certanly does the job

Honestly can't remember but just always put it in a normal bucket and fill it up and is ok at that

what is the mix for this?

 

Seems to be half a sachet to 5 litres for the dip.

 

ADMINISTRATION:

 

As a loft or aviary spray - 1 sachet per 5 litres of water. As a dip or direct spray for birds - half a sachet per 5 litres.
