I know it's hard but to try and help a newbie;

How much would it cost to keep a pair of pigeons after initial outlay, say for a month or a week ?

I know we cant factor in things like vets bills etc but for food and general expenses, for example it cost me about a £5 a week for my dog !

Is there anything I'm missing ?

Thanks Mark.

i would say the price of a bag of corn and for 2 birds would last a pretty long time. it costs me about £25 a month and that will feed 30+ young birds 3 old birds and about 12 stock birds. this is my first season racing and i started with only a handfull of birds and it never cost me much at all. cost of racing and pigeon products can get expensive though.

My first bit o advice would be tae scratch vets bills frae yer accounts cos naebody knows better than pigeon men. Pigeon corn costs aboot 9 a bag but in the winter ye can cut that doon wae mixin yer own barley etc. Yer paramyxo jag will be the most expensive rubbish youll need tae buy but apart frae that its wot you make it.
