Racing Pigeon?

Hi

 

We have had a pigeon sat on our lawn for a couple of days, it has two rings one red one blue on each leg, not got close enough to see the numbers though, do you think it's likely to be a racing pigeon?

I would think it is a racing pigeon, is it able to fly to the roofs?

It seems a little tame, it doesn't fly off like the other pigeons do (the pigeons around here are very timid), it does walk away though, it's been sat on the lawn though all day puffed up like a ball (keeping warm I guess) not usual behaviour for a pigeon though

It may simply be flown out, however it may be injured, my concern is that if it does not fly to higher ground, it may become the victim of a cat attackhttp://forum.pigeonbasics.org/public/style_emoticons/default/sad.gif if possible you should try and chase it upto flight, so cats can not get it.

It has just been feeding (the birds are fed better than me!)

 

If it hasn't moved later I'll see if it can be encouraged to move to higher ground

The bird is flying again but keeps coming back, but it's currently sat in the (torrential) rain, it does seem ok though, just a little mad ;o)
