Guest Gareth Rankin Posted June 9, 2010 Report Posted June 9, 2010 Champion were you at the meeting?Whats your thoughts on having a meaningless race (in the eyes of some )from 182 mls prior to Eastbourne 390mls and a 103mls race prior to Open Ypres race 445mls which will be the Feds Main race of the season. It was done Democratically i agree but some PB members are taking it to the extreme. With a South West Wind in the First Selby and Velocities ranging from 1155- 870 something was not quite right.Anywie all the best for the remainder of the old bird season for some its nearly over. At that time of the year is typically when we have the best weather of the year and it's better to take advantage of this fact with a race at 180 miles instead of a meaningless race around the usual distance of 60-78 miles. There are Lanarkshire fed members who will not set foot in a SNFC marking station so bearing in mind that these guys season is just about finished what is the problem in giving these members a little bit of distance to one of their final races. Regards to all this nonsense about it's only designed for the SNFC fanciers within the fed, well its a load bullsh-t because I don't know of any SNFC member within the fed who will be sending Eastbourne, Reims or Bourges pigeons to this race as the prep work will have been completed for these races already,so contrary to theses aquasations the race is a great benefit and designed for the fed member who will not go to the long distance races. Note that I did not propose Bubwith Selby and like many fanciers i also had pigeons returned injured from this race so if there is a problem with the site then we should move from Bubwith. Should be noted that most feds in Scotland are flying distances around 150-320 miles this weekend and yet a few Lanarkshire members are getting a nose bleed at sending to a race of 180 miles. Now gentlemen or is it ladies stop the bitching, race your doos and if your not happy about the program go to the meeting that decides the program in October.Best of luck to you all at the weekend. ALF Posted June 11, 2010 Report Posted June 11, 2010 Decided am not sending a bit too far the week before Eastbourne for my liking so will just give my doos a couple of 30-40 milers over the weekend myself Spoke to a few people in the club in the last couple of days and i think we'll only need 4 baskets at most this week  Good luck to everyone racing Alan

JohnQuinn Posted June 11, 2010 Report Posted June 11, 2010 I have to point out that the Fed Make Money when the SNFC transport our birds, the birdage of the Fed going to the longer races doesn't even touch the wages being paid out. When we send with SNFC we don't pay anything in wages, just birdage, so we SAVE Hundreds of pounds everytime we use them. The hall let money goes straight to the club who's premises are being used, the fed have no input as to which venue's will be used, the SNFC deal directly with the clubs. Also the SNFC made other arrangements for baskets this year so there'll be no income from that. I simply don't agree with organising a program to accommodate injured birds, that may or may not be looking for a race at this time of year. It is the Fanciers duty to get his birds fit to do the job. If a fancier canny get a doo fit to compete from Under 200mls then, IMO, he's in the wrong game! However if the members who attend the AGM, decide to change it next season, then thats what will happen and i'll just have to get on with it, just as those who disagree with this years program have to do now.

JohnQuinn Posted June 11, 2010 Report Posted June 11, 2010 All decisions about transport come from a majority of members who attend the AGM. You clearly disagree with the way things are being run, so can only suggest you make sure you go and vote and if you can, get 20 or so like minded members to come along and vote with you. You do yourself no justice greetin on here about it, and look foolish going on about it at every turn. You won't find a single answer to your issues on this or any other site. VOTE VOTE VOTE, its the only way to change things, like it or lump it. No offence but thats how it is Bigda, nobody on here can help you.

The decision to let them have the baskets last year was made at a Fed Delegate meeting after the letter requesting them was received. Your club Should have had a meeting to discuss the agenda, and your delegate HAS to vote according to what the club direct him to.As for the prize money distribution, that can also be voted on at the RACE program AGM, put a proposal in to the secretary before next years meeting and it will be discussed like everything else, and voted on like everything else, and the majority of like minded men will get their wish, whilst the Minority are left to greet on pigeon websites
JohnQuinn Posted June 11, 2010 Report Posted June 11, 2010 Would just add that i would LOVE an open race from say 200-250 miles, the birdage would be huge and the prestige would equal that. JMO

JohnQuinn Posted June 11, 2010 Report Posted June 11, 2010 nope you must have change the vote then, as it was in the minutes about prize money, did you change it without members knowledge I have NO idea what your on about, everything was voted on at the race program meeting, even if its a simple status quo, it is recorded as such. Now i don't know what minutes your looking at but if its the Race proggram meeting just last year it should be noted that a status quo was reached on the prize money distribution because there weren't ANY other proposals put forward, i know this to be accurate.
Guest bigda Posted June 11, 2010 Report Posted June 11, 2010 well it was descussed as henderson said thats where we leake money from
JohnQuinn Posted June 11, 2010 Report Posted June 11, 2010 There are many things said at the meetings but only one result when the votes are counted, so no matter who said what, it was still a status quo at the end of it. But i'm all for an open race fae say Newark or thereabouts. Get the proposal in and you'll get ma vote, no prob.
