cemetary Posted June 6, 2010 Report Posted June 6, 2010 Dont think there will be a big birdage this year with the heavy losses from yesterdays race, last year there was 4243 birds, this year a think they will be lucky ti get 2500 birds. What doo you think.
Guest IB Posted June 6, 2010 Report Posted June 6, 2010 I know that some send 1st Inland National pigeons back to the 2nd one. Not for me, I have a fresh batch for Eastbourne, but my 4 missing pigeons were destined for the channel, so that is where I believe the main impact will be, in reduced birdage in channel races.
DJWa Posted June 6, 2010 Report Posted June 6, 2010 was looking at sending about 6 but after yesterdays disasterwill prob be just the 2 hens i kept back for there
JohnQuinn Posted June 6, 2010 Report Posted June 6, 2010 I'm notorious for doubling up, but this year its my Peterborough doos are heading to Eastbourne. Should have a few to choose from come race time. :)
blaz Posted June 6, 2010 Report Posted June 6, 2010 think you might be right the birdage will be well down. if you can,t get a bird up to doing a race which is about 80 mile more after a 308 or so race in 2 weeks what chance of getting same bird up to doing over 500 in three weeks .
Guest WINGS 04 Posted June 6, 2010 Report Posted June 6, 2010 I hope to have 5 or 6 birds at Eastbourne but they will have to put up with some traning first then I will pick the best of them

What doo you think. last year the first race from Newbury had terrible returns for some members and there was still a good entry for Eastbourne, like it has been said above most fanciers will have a seperate team for Eastbourne, don't believe the convoy will go below the 4000 mark. All the best when it comes cem
