Guest clare Posted May 15, 2010 Report Posted May 15, 2010 A pigeon has taken up residence in my garden, he can fly so is obviously not hurt but he keeps on coming back and I can't get close enough to catch him/read his tag. Does anyone have any suggestions?
sapper756 Posted May 15, 2010 Report Posted May 15, 2010 It may fly off, once it has had a rest and a feedhttp://forum.pigeonbasics.org/public/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif
JohnQuinn Posted May 15, 2010 Report Posted May 15, 2010 You ever tried to loop one? Set out some cord or better still fly fishing line in a loop of about 8" on the grass and place feeding around it, the bird must step into the loop to eat, then strike like you were catching a fish when it does, the loop lassoo's the doos foot and you pull it to you. Its not the easiest way but if you get it right your sure to catch it.
big blue bar Posted May 15, 2010 Report Posted May 15, 2010 GET A FISH BOX TURN IT UPSIDE DOWN PLACE A STICK TO KEEP THE BOX UP AT ONE SIDE PLACE FOOD UNDER THE BOX TIE A ROPE TO THE STICK LONG ENOUGH SO UR OUT OF SITE SO WHEN IT GOES UNDER THE BOX TO GET THE FOOD POOL THE STRING TO CATCH IT IN THE BOX THEN CAREFULLY LIFT TO CATCH IT . USED TO DO THIS EVERY TIME I STAYED AT MY AUNTYS IN ABERDEEN YEARS AGO WORKS A TREET
Guest Owen Posted May 15, 2010 Report Posted May 15, 2010 Make up a square shaped trap from wire net and lathes. Put bob wires down two sides and you can catch just about anything.
