Please keep us informed. Thank you, I spoke to Mrs Benting Sat afternoon, and she is going to try and track down the owner for me. Has been a week now, and worried he's never going to be able to find his way home
Guest S Reynolds Posted May 17, 2010 Report Posted May 17, 2010 No joy on finding his owner unfortunately, seems like all I can do is stop feeding him in the hope he'll go home, or catch him. I'm quite worried though that if I do contain him, I've no idea how to look after him and it could be a few days before his owner is traced. If anyone has any ideas, or can offer him bed and board (! I'm on the North Wales/Shropshire border) please advise
PIGEON_MAN Posted May 17, 2010 Report Posted May 17, 2010 There is no real reason why the owner was not traced straight away unless the secretary is new and as no records of previous years ring sales which is unlikely,I would give the secretary another ring to find out if the owner as been notified.

She did explain, although I wasn't following everything she said, but I think the bird has been sold on since it was registered to that club, but she doesnt know where to. I guess the original owner hasnt kept a record of who he sold which birds on to.I really havent got anywhere suitable to contain it to be able to report it to the Royal Society. Are there any other forums that I can post on? Will the owner be worried about the bird, or is it quite common for them to go awol for a couple of weeks?
