There is a suggestion in various bits of research on YBS that circovirus the virus that destroys the birds immune system and starts YBS off , [equivalent of human AIDS virus], is passed down from parents to offspring, starting the cycle anew in the next generation. A nest-pair might just be co-incidence, but still might be worth checking to see if their parents suffered it as YBs?

first of all i would epson salts them,1 table spoon to 3 pints of wateroh add a tea spoon full of bicarbonated soda in aswell,i bet they will be bouncing the next day,if not cut your corn down or change it to a lighter mix.hope this helps ( dont pull out the antibiotics yet ) if you havnt already done so.

My God it is many years since i heared, of Epson Salts, My old Dad used to use this trick, over 60 years ago.

Some of the old tricks still work, No antibiotics in them days. "NICE ONE SCHOUWMAN".

Only had 2 go off this season, also nest mates. left them in the team until they were not eating at all then they had to go. The parents won't be allowed to breed again, in fact i'd be surprised at ma self if they survive 'til next year!

Its hard enough to win with strong robust Yb's instead of those who have to be nursed back to health. As a rule i don't medicate sick birds, if they get over it themselves fine, if not then they have to go. :(

The first thing i do when i go in to my yb loft is look for birds that do not look right and then they go in the bin ask yourself why this bird is like this and not the othere ones if you start treting them for this and that then they will only breed the same next year even if i go in and one has cancker it goes in the bin this is just my way

lance armstrong is a great althlete ! he was on the brink! he got treated! now he's back at the top !!

people get the flu the cold and become ill ! the recover to full fitness and win !!

yes its probibly the easy way to kill the birds but they can recover and they can win at the top !!
