Does anyone have problems with bent keels and how can they be prevented.

Calcium tablets whilst in the nest, as soon as you notice the problem. If you catch it soon enough it can be cured.

should have it before the eggs were laid not when hatched out ,its the sudden push upwards by the baby when coming out the egg that causes the bend in the keel which will stay that way for the rest of its life  ;D ;D ;D ;D

yes sammy grit and minerals should be infront at all times, however there must be some form of weakness in the pigeons bones i would imagine, as i can honestly say have never came across the problem

keel is a bone underneath the pigeon  ;D ;D ;D

Never have, and can't see how a bent keel is, or can be a problem. Many outstanding pigeons have exce;;ed with them.

A boat with a bent keel won't do very well in a race - surely the same will apply to a pigeon? :-/

nail on the head they wont do very well in a race but some good pigeons have been bred of birds with bent keels

today was the 1st time ive handled all my ybs at once and one of them has i bent keel,i always have grit+ minerals and they fly well over an hour and are in perfect health any ideas why this one is like this

Why would it affect a racing pigeons performance??

It wouldn't. But of course it would in the show pen, especially the 'Handling ones.
