sapper756 Posted May 2, 2010 Report Posted May 2, 2010 why do the birds (doo,s) leave maize ?. I tend to find that if they are feeding youngsters, they are not too keen on the maizehttp://forum.pigeonbasics.org/public/style_emoticons/default/blink.gif

OLDYELLOW Posted May 2, 2010 Report Posted May 2, 2010 I read on a forum recently it was a sign of yeast infection. Never heard this before, anyone want to comment?i think its more the fact of over feeding put too much down they pick at it and select what they want ,get them competing for food they eat what you want jmo , i dont think that a yeast infection would stop them eating maize
Guest kev d Posted May 2, 2010 Report Posted May 2, 2010 due to over feeding get it right and they eat any thing mine do any way .
jimmy white Posted May 2, 2010 Report Posted May 2, 2010 the most usual time birds will leave the maize is when feeding youngsters,,, also there are different times of the year when they will go off maize, they will usually eat more maize in cold weather[maize producing heat] than in hot weather,, but if the maize is sound and fed in a well balanced diet, they should eat it ok, ,, but there are birds that will prefer one grain to another, thats why many feed the grains separately,
