p charlton Posted April 30, 2010 Report Posted April 30, 2010 ive near done my 16 foot loft. its got a open front due to my pfl. i was going to get a large extracter fans but i dont think they will be much use due to the front being open so i am thinking of cutting a 4in gap along the back of the loft at the top and bottum. what would be best any advice would be welcome

OLDYELLOW Posted April 30, 2010 Report Posted April 30, 2010 if was me id of had 1ft alway round bottom mesched with hinged boards so could be opened / closed 4ft/1ft mesch/landing board in middle then 1ft all round top meshed with hinged boards that double up as landing boards then you can regulate air in loft and stop rain getting in
p charlton Posted April 30, 2010 Author Report Posted April 30, 2010 soz the gap will have cm hole wire neeting on like the front what way do you think will work
Guest joshdonlan Posted April 30, 2010 Report Posted April 30, 2010 mice may still be able to get through 1 cm gap. Look on Taylors site, i think they sell 0.5 x 0.5 mesh, thats what i used

showman Posted April 30, 2010 Report Posted April 30, 2010 Any wire you use on loft, to stop vermin, has to be 1/4" square. Anything else, mice will definitely still get through. Can be hard to get in roll form, but is available in 'panel' form from good hardware outlet.
