Guest slugmonkey Posted November 26, 2005 Report Posted November 26, 2005 I bought a FUJI Finepix it is built like a 35mm so I can change lenses I use a close up lens to do eyework what most dont know or understand about cameras is that the better the original picture the better it will be if you enlarge it this is a 6 megapixel camera so it eats memory like a fat girl at the doughnut shop but the pictures I get are great it also allows me to turn down the amount of definition I get so for taking holiday pictures of the family I can set it so it dosent use as much memory it will accept cards or sticks and also will export directly to photo dock if you are trying to get GOOD eye pictures this is the way to go you have to look at it this way if your camera takes a picture of the birds eye from lets say 2ft away is as close as you can get and the picture you get is 4 times bigger than the eye and lets say that you have 4 mega pixels when you crop out everything that isnt eye you have thrown out 3/4 of the frame so your actual image is now 1 mp then you blow that up you will see a loss of detail and probably some pixelation ( those little squares that make the picture fuzzy )wheras you get a camera that has the ability to let you get 6 inches and the picture is all eye ( thats all you see when you look at the veiw finder is eye from top to bottom side to side ) you have a true 4 mp picture when you blow this up it stays sharp with no pixelation every pixel captures part of an image so you have to understand that the more pixels an image carries the sharper it will be if you take a piece of paper and draw a picture on it then draw 2 lines so it is divided into 4 equal pieces and then you take the same picture and divide it into 16 equal parts and then blow each piece up 4 times and compare every piece you will see the 16 pieces will have less picture on each piece if you then frame one section and look through it you will see 1/4 of the 4 pieces which is 1 frame but on the 16 piece picture you will see 4 frames and each will contain more of the picture if you again enlarge it you now see 1/4 of a 4 piece picture and 1 of the pieces of the1/16th image, the 1/4 may or may not contain any image but the 1 /16th picture will contain an image hope this makes it clear as mud I think that the trouble that most people have is that they dont put the picture together before they take it they just point the camera and hope it will sort it out for them when ever you are taking pictures try to think what the picture will look like and then move the camera till it looks the way you want it then take the picture instead of just hoping they turn out
