And what EXACTLY would both of you go in and tell DEFRA (about avian flu and pigeons) ???

so the r.p.r.a were right thats what there members were told to do from day one.

Considering that there is nothing new published on the Scottish Executive, DEFRA or RPRA websites, Fifer's news is BREAKING news and apparently applies from Saturday.

For you to now infer that 'you / repra were right from day one' when even 9 year olds in the street when asked 'do birds need to be kept in?' would have answered correctly  'yes'.

Breaking the law is wrong in any country's code. Your statement is pure arrogance and frankly, a damned disgrace, slighting not just Fife, but the whole of Scotland..

IT DID NOT AFFECT ME BUT I THINK IT IS BRILLIANT THAT YOU'RE ON THE RIGHT TRACK GETTING BIRDS FLYING AGAIN.

I'm equally pleased on the latest news, because it means that you can at least keep the birds fresh on the run-up to training & racing.

It appears to follow hard on the latest risk assessment which saw no need to increase the Zone area, without saying at the same time that there was scope to decrease the Zone or relax some of the restrictions imposed in it!!

I am also aware Fife MSPs were made aware on fanciers' feelings and this may also have fed through.

Can anyone throw any light on where the news is coming from and confirm the reasons for this relaxation?

I'd also like to sound a warning for future: word-of-mouth carries no authority - you can't show government officials a telephone call claiming you can do x,y or z. The   legislation which set-up the current Zone is quite clear on this: all restrictions and procedures and aall alterations made to them MUST BE MADE IN WRITING BY THE SCOTTISH MINISTER; and the restricted areas must be backed-up by a map showing the affected zones. Your authority is a copy of those documents.
