swilcox Posted April 18, 2006 Report Posted April 18, 2006 The role of the RPRA and Peter Bryant has never been under the microscope such as it is now with the outbreak of Avian Flu but in my opinion Peter Bryant has finally given our sport the representation and guidance that many of have felt has been missing in the past. The way in which Mr. Bryant has dealt with Defra and the way in which he has reported back to the sport has been a credit to him. I have found him to be open, honest and informative when reporting on the status of Avian Flu. Many were quick to point the finger in his direction but remember he has got the sport racing all be it in a reduced capacity. If Pigeon Racing does return to normal in the near future then Mr Bryant at least deserves a pat on the back for a job well done. I have many grievances with the RPRA and there leadership of the sport but I just hope that Peter Bryant can tackle those other problem areas with the same determination and vigor as he has address the threat of Avian Flu Stuart Wilcox

Guest TAMMY_1 Posted April 18, 2006 Report Posted April 18, 2006 FROM DAY ONE I HAVE BEEN A HUGE SUPPORTER OF PETER BRYANT AS YOU MAY HAVE NOTICED BY SOME OF MY POSTS,HE DOES HIS UTMOST FOR PIGEON RACING AND I HAVE DEFENDED HIM WHEN HE HAS HAD HIS KNOCKERS I HAVE SPOKE UP ESPECIALLY IN THE LAST FEW DAYS WHEN HE WAS MEANT TO HAVE BEEN TALKING OLD HAT AND BEEN OUT OF DATE WITH HIS MESSAGES. ANY E-MAILS I GET OFF HIM SEEM TO BE UP TO DATE AND THE ONE THIS MORNING CONFIRMED AGAIN WHAT HE SAID LAST WEEK DEFRA ARE NOT GOING TO CHANGE THEIR MIND AT PRESENT.THOSE WHO THOUGHT THEY KNEW BETTER AND HAD ""INSIDE INFORMATION" SHOULD MAYBE LISTEN TO WHAT HE SAYS,BECAUSE UP TILL NOW I HAVE FOUND HIM TO BANG ON WITH HIS INFORMATION.
sj irving jnr Posted April 18, 2006 Report Posted April 18, 2006 its the shu thats slow dandydoo, keep up the good work peter bryant.
Guest Posted April 18, 2006 Report Posted April 18, 2006 I think it is a bit unfair to single out individuals for praise or criticism in the handling of the avian flu restrictions. Still feel its a joint approach that's needed, whether at UK level (Confederation) or EU level (FCI). Our case also needs some good scientific back-up. Without that, doesn't matter really who's spearheading things.
jimmy white Posted April 18, 2006 Report Posted April 18, 2006 after speaking to a few fifers on sat , i would have to agree with dandydoo, allthough im not taking anything away from peter bryant ,im sure hes doing his best as far as i can make out we have the childish "digs"at shu, rpra situation, i would more be remembering the words of bruno some time ago,"we should all be fighting for us , not among us" and paying more attention to his post above,
square_peg Posted April 18, 2006 Report Posted April 18, 2006 TOTALL AGREEMENT JIMMY AT THIS MOMENT (IN FIFE) WE SHOULD ALL BE PULLING ON THE SAME END OF THE ROPE ,THE LAST 2 YEARS IN FIFE HAVE BEEN PRETTY BAD WITH THE BREAK UP AND NOW THIS ,BUT AS THE DOO GAME GETS SMALLER AT SOME POINT WE ALL WILL GET BACK TOGETHER ,OR THE GAMES A BOGEY ANYBODY AND EVERYBODY WHO HAS TRIED TO GET SOME KIND OF RACING FOR US THIS SEASON DESERVES A PAT ON THE BACK ,MOST OF THE PROBLEMS HAVE COME FROM LACK OF CLARITY FROM A LOT HIGHER THAN SHU OR RPRA REMEMBER NOT THAT NOTLONG AGO MOST OF US THOUGHT WE WOULD'NT BE RACING THIS SEASON AT ALL AT LEAST NOW WE GOT SOME RACING PLANNED AND WITH A BIT OF LUCK WHO KNOWS JUST MAYBE WE WILL GET CHANNEL RACING NOW REALLY IS THE TIME TO STOP ALL THIS S**T AND GET BACK TO DOO RACING IF YOU DONT LIKE A SUBJECT ON PB THEN DONT READ IT ,SIMPLE,THEN THE S**T STIRRERS WONT GET AN ANSWER TO THERE POSTS AND GET FED UP AND GO AWAY HAPPY RACING FOLKS
dandydoo Posted April 19, 2006 Report Posted April 19, 2006 I agree re Jimmy and his quote from Bruno but the reality is a bit different and I have been sickened by the attitudes in Fife from a small minority. This was not working together nor looking out for each other. It was man mind thyself and to hell with the consequences for the rest .... I am gutted ..hopefully i will get over it
