big_al Posted January 7, 2006 Report Posted January 7, 2006 HAD A FEW PROBLEMS LIKE : AMTRAK NOT TURNING UP TOO PICK UP BIRDS , THEN LETTING BIRDS OUT OFF BOX BEFORE REACHING ME ETC.
snowy Posted February 16, 2006 Report Posted February 16, 2006 never used them before, but they just picked up 2 birds from me to take to peckedhen (logans) ;D, & he said have you got a box? all the boxes are on my old van & i aint got any, so i put them in a pigeon carrier i made last year, & he said he will return it tomorrow. anyway peckedhen, been fed & watered, good luck with them ;D regards.
Guest jason Posted February 16, 2006 Report Posted February 16, 2006 i've always paid cash on delivery and never had any problems but a lad in our club had a dead pigeon delivered, it had been squashed flat in the back of the van so he refused to pay and the driver said ok!
Guest jason Posted February 17, 2006 Report Posted February 17, 2006 no i don't think so , he hasn't said but he got away with not paying and so he should!
Diamond dave Posted February 17, 2006 Report Posted February 17, 2006 Why not try the service offered by the phantom flyer - He's brill. I'm not sure if he covers the whole of the country yet but he is a fancier himself, friendly and very helpful. He might not get to you within one or two days but he is reliable and you know the bird is going to be looked after.
Guest Posted February 18, 2006 Report Posted February 18, 2006 like someone said earlier the problem is that amtrack is franchised out and they also have the monoploly (to early in the mrning for spelling, plus im in wrk and its busy :-P)
AlanWilkins Posted April 11, 2006 Author Report Posted April 11, 2006 A classic this one i breed the Billingham boys (Gary n Tommy) who had the fire 10 young birds Amtrack turn up with no boxes but cant blame the girl she wasnt told they were pigeons being picked up. So to save some hassel i let them take the young in aoldtraining crate but here the classic bit Amtrack charged £7.00 extra due to the weight. They save on 10 boxes n cash in aswell TIPICAL
NANCYVIEWLOFTS Posted April 11, 2006 Report Posted April 11, 2006 i live in bollington and have been 100% satisfied with our depot for well over 10 years i know though that isnt the case everywhere
rockinrick Posted April 12, 2006 Report Posted April 12, 2006 i personaly have had no problems with amtrack they have been polite on phone ,they have picked up and delivered before the expected time and i have had good friendly drivers come to the house with my birds ,, perhaps its jus me .. i must be one of the lucky ones ,, lmao :)
REDCHEQHEN Posted April 13, 2006 Report Posted April 13, 2006 I usually take the birds to the depot, and pick them up - its 15 miles away, but rather that than a) hang around waiting for collection and delivery and you can take birds to the depot as late as 6.00pm for sending and they can be picked up from the depot as early as 7.00am. That way the birds can spend as little as 14 hours in a box. It suits me, and I have always been happy with their service.
Guest Posted April 13, 2006 Report Posted April 13, 2006 i'm the same take them to amtrak after 6pm--pick any up at 10 am no prob.
