Guest Posted July 31, 2006 Report Posted July 31, 2006 I sent 12 to hereford , only got 5 back worst returns in the club . Very dissapointed , i have definetely done something wrong , but as yet dont know what it is? Plenty of training good food etc but at a loss as to how to improve for next week ?
Guest Posted July 31, 2006 Report Posted July 31, 2006 P.S. any genuine advice or questions welcomed , I need some help . THANKS.
Henrik Posted July 31, 2006 Report Posted July 31, 2006 How far is Hereford? What were the returns for the rest of the club? Are they flying well at excercise?
Guest Posted July 31, 2006 Report Posted July 31, 2006 Thanks Henrik , Hereford is just over 69 miles to me , returns for rest of club were good e.g 38 out of 42 , 24 sent and 25 returned by 1 member ,my freind and near neighbour won 1st and 2nd (14 birds before me) no jealousy , but his do in general fly better and longer than mine?
stevebelbin Posted July 31, 2006 Report Posted July 31, 2006 Sounds like you need to get their droppings tested, to see if there is anything ailing them!!
Guest Posted July 31, 2006 Report Posted July 31, 2006 Thanks for the reply Steve , i may be be wrong but i am happy with the look of the dropping , many of my y/b s are different ages and a couple suffered hawk damage s o are not flying too well , but i sent those in best condition

jimmy white Posted July 31, 2006 Report Posted July 31, 2006 hi n w novice ,just wondering if that could be upsetting the birds as i had that a few years ago , and it took a bit time and patience to get them right again ,, anyway hope you have better luck and get to the bottom of things,, all the best j,w
Guest marvin Posted July 31, 2006 Report Posted July 31, 2006 got 22 out of 24 2nd and 5th club so not to bad had 10 pretty much together but waited a long time for the rest though
Pompey Mick Posted July 31, 2006 Report Posted July 31, 2006 The Solent Fed had a very poor race from Seaton flying to Southern Hampshire on what looked a perfect flying day, liberated at 7.00 in a Lt SW wind with plenty of sunshine en route. My Club sent 236 birds, the winner took 2hrs 15mins for 86 ml when we were expecting the birds in 1hr 40-45 mins. 17 members sent, one failed to time in and it took over four hours from the first to the last member clocked. The Club ended with about 60% returns but the birds were all day coming, we're all scratching our heads on this one.
Matthew Posted July 31, 2006 Report Posted July 31, 2006 our club is pretty much the same and alot round here am jus glad a dint send the whole team still got 39 left hoping to put them all in to the fourth race 118 miles (hopefully all this losing ybs business will have settled down)
mark163 Posted July 31, 2006 Report Posted July 31, 2006 hi ace my velocity was 1493 much slower than yours and fed winner 1540 but speaking to people returns were bad i was luckly 33 from 34 got one sunday morning flown out can not understand why race was funny as there was nothing on the line of flight that they could have hit most of took there time to clear race point as we shoud have been doing the same vel as you
westburylofts Posted August 1, 2006 Report Posted August 1, 2006 I sent 11 got 12 Adam sent 12 got 13 All home in 20 min's just amazes me how we lost two yb's 5 weeks ago and they both drop back together with the race birds. Ray
Guest Posted August 1, 2006 Report Posted August 1, 2006 Been in someone elses loft Ray and they must have sent them to the race
Guest Posted August 1, 2006 Report Posted August 1, 2006 Been in someone elses loft Ray and they must have sent them to the race
johnny11 Posted August 1, 2006 Report Posted August 1, 2006 Hi all 2nd and 6th out of 410 birds, way down in fed as all birds overshot, so the longest flyers clocked before the shorter flyers so win the race easily. missing 4 John
westburylofts Posted August 1, 2006 Report Posted August 1, 2006 Thought the same thing linda but they did not have any race rubbers on and they had muddy feet and lost alot of weight think they have been feilding for some time. ray
