ON SATURDAYS MAP THE EAST LOOKS OK UP UNTIL NEWCASTLE,THEN AFTER THAT ONLY FIFE LOOKS OK,  AND ON SUNDAY ALL OK UNTIL NEWCASTLE AND ABERDEEN AREAS

Race Rubbers Usually removed or better still put on other leg to show YOU ya bird has called in somewhere and been fed/watered and sometimes helped on its way. Just a thought as to why.

Ps  What use are the rubbers a week after the winner?

Mo is right, if a strange bird goes into some flyers lofts, they will feed and water until the bird is fit to leave, but remove the rubber to let you know it's been in someones loft and been cared for.  If I did this with a bird, I would usually tuck a piece of paper inside the ring with my phone number written in pencil, then the owner would know where the bird had been.
