Henrik Posted September 21, 2006 Report Posted September 21, 2006 So if it had been a strong East wind then the west boys could have had a field day. The wind didnt suit us either get less than 10 mins off the south east boys but takes my birds over an hour to fly in a wind like that
Guest TAMMY_1 Posted September 21, 2006 Report Posted September 21, 2006 IF THE NATIONAL HAD BEEN FROM KELSO LANARKSHIRE WOULD HAVE TAKEN THE FIRST 200 PLACES BECAUSE THEY COULD COME HOME FROM THERE WITH THEIR EYES SHUT AS THEY KNEW EVERY BLADE OF GRASS ON THE WAY HOME
me Posted September 21, 2006 Report Posted September 21, 2006 Henrick - "So if it had been a strong East wind then the west boys could have had a field day." without a doubt if the weather in the east had been as bad as the weather in the west on monday the birds would not have been liberated
Henrik Posted September 22, 2006 Report Posted September 22, 2006 Guy from the west & one from central who controlled the race Mo,The guy from the East was on Holiday
andy Posted September 22, 2006 Report Posted September 22, 2006 Guy from the west & one from central who controlled the race Mo,The guy from the East was on Holiday "ME" NEVER HEARD OF YOU BUT THE TWO MEN CONTROLLING THE RACE ARE ACTUALLY IN THE WEST SECTION BOUNDARY....FACT NOT FICTION...NEXT EXCUSE?????? ALSO IF YOU'VE BEEN ALIVE THIS WEEK YOU WILL BE AWARE OF THE WEATHER ON TUESDAY....WEDNESDAY THE BIRDS WOULD'VE BEEN BROUGHT HOME...
DECKY Posted September 22, 2006 Report Posted September 22, 2006 The weather here in the west was terrible, but enough pigeons were in to finish the prizes in an hour and a half.So you must say it turned out a decent race. Much better than last year when it took two full days to use up prizes.I agree with Andy that we should be further down the road with the birds in prep for the National but I also think we will never have a hope in hell of ever winning the yb nat here in the west, unless it was a disaster

sj irving jnr Posted September 22, 2006 Report Posted September 22, 2006 well done to walker and wilson another national in the bag. i think andys not far away in what he says, our programme has been bad,4 races under 60 miles then another at 90 then 120, then 160,but we just have to get on with it.
Guest Gareth Rankin Posted September 22, 2006 Report Posted September 22, 2006 Yes Scott their comes a time that you have to be thick skinned.
me Posted September 23, 2006 Report Posted September 23, 2006 ANDY - "ALSO IF YOU'VE BEEN ALIVE THIS WEEK YOU WILL BE AWARE OF THE WEATHER ON TUESDAY....WEDNESDAY THE BIRDS WOULD'VE BEEN BROUGHT HOME..." You are right Andy the weather for the east on Tuesday and Wednesday was as bad as the weather in the west on Monday ao the birds would have been brought back. Who was controlling does not matter a jot there have been a few dodgy decisions made this year by controllers in the west of the country if memory serves. Look back over the years if the weather is ok in the east they go up.No wonder there are so few Ayrshire members left in the club, the birds have been liberated on days where it was not even safe to let your birds out in Ayrshire because the weather was so bad.
Chris Little Posted September 23, 2006 Report Posted September 23, 2006 A huge well done goes to Walker & Wilson , yet another national win for these 2 gentlemen from Eyemouth, must be number 7 now for them I think. Also a pat on the back for everyone that timed and made the result.
