Guest TAMMY_1 Posted September 24, 2006 Report Posted September 24, 2006 HOW DID THE FLYERS WHO WERE RACING YESTERDAY GET ON WITH RETURNS BECAUSE THE PIGEON NAVIGATION SITE WAS AT BLACK YESTERDAY AND THIS WAS MEANT TO MEAN BAD RACING AND I JUST WANTED TO KNOW IF THIS SITE HELD ANY CREEDENCE AND DID ANYBODY HAVE BAD RETURNS OR IS THIS JUST MUMBO JUMBO ? DOES ANYBODY ON THE FORUM RACE THEIR BIRDS USING THE INFORMATION ON PIGEON NAVIGATION OR DO THEY JUST RACE THEM ANYWAY WHATEVER IT SHOWS ?
NANCYVIEWLOFTS Posted September 24, 2006 Report Posted September 24, 2006 i do look every week at it but always think that our race controller and convoyer will not liberate if it is not fit we fly in the staffordshire/moorland fed where the safety of the birds always come first as far as i can remember we have never had a bad race due to weather conditions if there is any doubt they will hold
andy Posted September 24, 2006 Report Posted September 24, 2006 PENTLAND FED ANY AGE RACING YESTERDAY FROM OTTERBURN--ALL HOME.
schyphos Posted September 24, 2006 Report Posted September 24, 2006 Racing from Peterboro 71mls yesterday.Sent 21 all 21 home within 15 minutes.Slow 1200ypm (SE wind) but good race.
Tony C Posted September 24, 2006 Report Posted September 24, 2006 West Essex Fed raced out of Newark yesterday. 26/26 home. Didn't fall in, what we would expect on a S/E wind.
Guest TAMMY_1 Posted September 24, 2006 Report Posted September 24, 2006 OBVIOUSLY IT WAS WRONG YESTERDAY NANCYVIEW LOFTS YOU SAY YOU WATCH THIS SITE HAVE YOU HAD A RACE WHEN PIGEON NAVIGATION WAS ON THE BLACK AND YOU DID HAVE A BAD RACE OR HAS IT BEEN ON THE BLACK AND YOU HAD GOOD RACING, I AM JUST REALLY TRYING TO SEE IF IT IS WORTH USING THIS SITE WHEN RACING NEXT YEAR
PIGEON_MAN Posted September 24, 2006 Report Posted September 24, 2006 TAM,YOU WILL PROBABLEY GET AS MUCH USEFULL IMFORMATION BY USING THE OLD METHOD OF HANGING A PIECE OF SEAWEED OUTSIDE YA BACK DOOR AND KEEPING A EYE ON THAT THAN YOU WILL BY TAKING ANY NOTICE OF THIS NAVIGATION THING. ;D
Guest TAMMY_1 Posted September 24, 2006 Report Posted September 24, 2006 WHAT'S THE SEAWEED MEANT TO TELL YOU ?
PIGEON_MAN Posted September 24, 2006 Report Posted September 24, 2006 CANT QUITE REMEMBER WHAT THE OLD FOLKS USED TO SAY BUT I THINK IT WAS IF THE SEAWEED WAS REAL DRY IT MEANT FINE WEATHER IF THE SEAWEED WAS WET IT WAS GOING TO BE BAD WEATHER.THOUGHT YOU WOULD HAVE KNOWN ABOUT THAT. ;D
Guest TAMMY_1 Posted September 24, 2006 Report Posted September 24, 2006 CANT QUITE REMEMBER WHAT THE OLD FOLKS USED TO SAY BUT I THINK IT WAS IF THE SEAWEED WAS REAL DRY IT MEANT FINE WEATHER IF THE SEAWEED WAS WET IT WAS GOING TO BE BAD WEATHER.THOUGHT YOU WOULD HAVE KNOWN ABOUT THAT. ;D TOO YOUNG TO REMEMBER ANYTHING LIKE THAT

Guest TAMMY_1 Posted September 24, 2006 Report Posted September 24, 2006 SEND ME SOME I CAN'T ACTUALLY REMEMBER THE LAST TIME I SAW SEAWEED AS THE NEAREST WATER TO ME IS THE RIVER CLYDE

Guest TAMMY_1 Posted September 24, 2006 Report Posted September 24, 2006 WAS BLACK YESTERDAY AND IS JUST CHANGING ON TO RED TODAY
mealybar Posted September 24, 2006 Report Posted September 24, 2006 What information do they use on pigeon navigation to say if its going to be good or bad. I thought it was the k index, but that was reading green for yesterday ??)
Guest TAMMY_1 Posted September 24, 2006 Report Posted September 24, 2006 JUST SHOWS DIFFERENT COLOURS AND IT WAS DEFINATELY BLACK YESTERDAY AND TODAY IT IS BLACK/RED
mealybar Posted September 24, 2006 Report Posted September 24, 2006 I understand they use colours to say if its fit for racing or not, but what goes into the calculation to say if its a good or bad day?
Guest TAMMY_1 Posted September 24, 2006 Report Posted September 24, 2006 I understand they use colours to say if its fit for racing or not, but what goes into the calculation to say if its a good or bad day? HAVE NOT GOT A CLUE HOW THEY WORK IT OUT
jimmy white Posted September 24, 2006 Report Posted September 24, 2006 ;D ;D ;D yes the seaweed and the cones are better for me ;D ;D ;D far easier than this hi-tech stuff ;D ;D ;D just to prove it on the 4th of nov were going to have rain ;D ;D ;D ;D,,,,,2008 ;D ;D ;D ;D
jimmy white Posted September 24, 2006 Report Posted September 24, 2006 ;D its actually true what rose said about the cones and pigeon man, about the seaweed, ;D ;D ;D,,,,,but hard to imagine all the convoyers in brittain going around with a cone necklace,,,and a seaweed wig ;D ;D ;D
PIGEON_MAN Posted September 24, 2006 Report Posted September 24, 2006 BY THE LOOK OF SOME OF THE WEATHER CONDITIONS THEY PUT THE BIRDS UP IN JIM THEY MIGHT JUST AS WELL ;D
