If whilst browsing through an internet pigeon sale you noticed a pigeon that belongs to you? I ask this question because this has just happened to me with a pigeon I loaned to an ex friend who sold up last year. He never returned this bird to me which has now ended up for sale by someone who must have purchased it from him. I have sent a couple of messages to the seller informing him of this, I know the bird couldnt have been transfered to him. The thing is it is its a very special bird to me, I will name and shame if my messages go un answered

If the new sellar doesnt answer you ....like a car you have the log book ...pigeon is yours go and get it ....ask nicely if no response..phone union and his club fed sec and go and get it with them or a policeman ...ITS YOURS....and I would be telling my ex friend to stay ex ...Friends dont sell friends loan birds. How come you didn't ask for it when ex friend packed up

I'm hoping the man trying to sell the cock  see's sense and gives him back to me I have given him enough details about the bird too,  like who bred it, the person who bred its parents including the year its parents were bred have offered him the name of the agent Who sold the birds to me, that the split ring on its leg was put on by me so I know he purchased it with that on, have another bird still in the loft with ring on its leg that is of the same year and from the same loft ect ect

You have got to feel sorry for the lad selling it  as well though as your ex friend has shafted him by selling it it is him who will end up out of pocket. Is there no way of taking action against your ex friend?

Or come to an agreement with new sellar offer to breed him something of it and maybe something else or a gesture of a wee £££ for a hassle free resolution ....bottom line is not his to sell so a gesture of YBs might do it

like I have said pm's have been sent to the seller. I dont blame him its not his fault, but at the end of the day I want my pigeon back I will only name him if he doesnt get in touch about resolving this matter. I feel sorry for him but its upto him to get his money back. The less I see of the lad who sold him the bird the better.

Seems like the man trying to sell the bird wants me to sort it out with the person he bought it off, more chance of hell freezing over first, as I've said I dont talk to the man, so it looks like it will go to the Unions, he seems happy to want to do that and I'am. Shame its come to this

lawful ruling on this matter would be....if u are soley the legal owner of this bird, then u have the right by law to have the bird returned to you and the person who has it at the moment then can claim against the person who sold him the bird in the small claims court.....do not go to the place where the bird is kept and take it without permission....u will then be in trouble for possible tresspassing wether the bird is urs or not....if u live near the person with the bird, go round to him explaining the situation and suggest that if the bird is not in ur possesion within say 3 days then u will then be takin legal proceedings to recover the bird ,which the person who has the bird will be leaglly bound to hand over the bird to u...by no means threaten the person with violence...it then takes on more serious matters!..best of luck m8.

do you know the ring number or have it if so it will help you claim the bird back there and then.it also looks better for you to say the bird ring no and they know straight away you are telling the truth that the bird is yours .also you can tell the rpra or what ever union you belong to and then you just go and get it,its your bird and if you can proove it end of story.if it was me i would go and fetch it s.a.p

I have gone into more detail than ring numbers lol down to the ages of his parents, who bred them who the agent was that conducted the entire clearence sale, how much his parents fetched the list goes on and on could even tell him the colour of his eyes (which are what I call nut brown) I still have a cock in the loft purchased at the same time from the same loft which was bred in  the same year NEHU99 SP****. Bought from Brian Arathoon (agent) on behalf of Nelson, Carling & sons of Sunderland. Surely this along with transfer will be enough evidence.

Nah... think you will lose the bird toon_barmy... or it won't e there time the matter reached court.

If he want's to fly he may converse with you, but may believe - falsely there are ways around it.

Unless he has change of heart, 1st 3 days normally, then you will have a uphill wait.

But I think 2/3 days day the line he'll try and salvage something and face. I can' understand him being peeved if he actually paid out money...  or another deal. Likewise may thing - wrongly - 9/10th of poceccession is the law. He will have to run it over in his mind, and then with a couple of advisers first I believe. I would!

Then I'd make the bird available to you. But he must be able to save face, and dignity, and able to voice how he feels. So patients is the merit of the crux I'd wager.

im getting a wee bit lost here toon barmy??you say you have a copy of the transfer,,,do you mean the receipt part,,,, or do you still hold the original transfer??

if you hold the original transfer and havent sent it to the union to be registered, the bird could be transferred to anyone by now, and its legally theirs,,,,,,but if its the duplicate [receipt transfer] which has been registered in your name , quite simply the bird is yours , and how could the seller sell the bird without a signed transfer form to accompany the bird

The bird was loaned out from late 2000, I re-started back in the sport begining of 2005 fell out with person who had him on loan (cant go into what happened) back end of July 2005. Seen pigeon advertised on another site. Contacted the person via this site as he's a member on here, he replied to some of my pms but not to my last one informing him I had spoken with RPRA and club secretary and could he give me his details. The bird in question is born in 99 bought from BHW January 7th 2000 edition pages 86-87 entire clearence sale. Could give plenty more information but its late and have work in the morning.
