mulberrylofts Posted October 20, 2006 Report Posted October 20, 2006 CLUB RACING LIB TIMES, ARE GETTING EARLIER AND EARLIER ON SATURDAY MORNINGS, MAKING IT INCREASINGLY DIFFICULT FOR FANCIERS WHO WORK ON SATURDAY MORNINGS AND ARE HAVING TO ASK OTHER PEOPLE TO CLOCK THEIR BIRDS IN.......... MISSING THE WHOLE RACE AND THE BUZZ OF IT ALL
andy Posted October 20, 2006 Report Posted October 20, 2006 EARLIER THE BETTER, FOR THE BIRDS CONDITION & CLEANER AIR, WEATHER PERMITTING. FIRST UP BEST DRESSED!
mulberrylofts Posted October 20, 2006 Author Report Posted October 20, 2006 agreed.....but first up earns the wage to feed the birds.
andy Posted October 20, 2006 Report Posted October 20, 2006 agreed.....but first up earns the wage to feed the birds. YOUR RIGHT I WORK NIGHTS!!!!
ALF Posted October 20, 2006 Report Posted October 20, 2006 OUR FED VOTED AT THE RACE PROGAMME AGM THAT THE LIB TIME IN THE YEAR BOOK IS THE TIME THE BIRDS SHOULD BE LIBERATED UNLESS THE CONVOYER HAS A GOOD REASON TO LET THEM GO EARLIER ;D ;D
Beanz Posted October 20, 2006 Report Posted October 20, 2006 Unless there is a valid reason the birds should be liberated to suit all fanciers including those that work, if the weather is closing in and its a bad forecast for the next couple of days so the chance of a liberation is very poor or in the case of youngsters extreme heat then thats different, I can live with that. I work some Friday nights so it does not affect me every week.
Beanz Posted October 21, 2006 Report Posted October 21, 2006 Rose you can only go as far as your organisation goes, unfortunately the majority of pigeon fanciers don't work Saturdays and so they are in the majority and are not really bothered about the early libs. We had a young bird race this year were we only fly 47 miles and they were up at 08-30 I worked that night and only got to bed at 04-30 and there was also a cock up with the lib time and we were not told until the birds were actually home.My wife woke me up with the words the birds are up at 08-30 but the secretary says you will have missed them anyway when I looked out of the window there was4 birds on the loft.
Guest Posted October 21, 2006 Report Posted October 21, 2006 We liberate as early as we can, especially with young birds, if something happens on the way home, the birds will have the maximum amount of daylight to get home
Beanz Posted October 21, 2006 Report Posted October 21, 2006 Rose was not having a dig at you just stating facts
Guest TAMMY_1 Posted October 21, 2006 Report Posted October 21, 2006 YOU'LL NEVER BEAT LANARKSHIRE UP, A CHINK OF DAYLIGHT AND AWAY THEY GO AND ALF THAT THING THAT WAS PASSED ABOUT KEEPING BIRDS TO A FIXED TIME IS ABOUT THE STUPIDEST THING I HAVE EVER HEARD AND HOW THEY VOTED THAT IN IS BEYOND COMPREHENSION [ TELL YOU AFTER WHAT THIS WORD MEANS ] ARE WE GOING TO SIT AND WAIT TILL THE RAIN COMES AND SAY ITS NINE OCLOCK THATS THERE TIME GET THEM UP, THIS WAS PASSED WITH FOLK THAT CANNAE GET OUT THEIR BED IN TIME, AND ONE MAN ACTUALLY SAID THAT HE DIDNAE WANT TO GET UP EARLY THATS BECAUSE HE SLEPT IN FOR THE Y/BIRDS THAT WER UP EARLY, I THINK THIS IS SOME THING THEY WILL LIVE TO REGRET, ABSURD, WE WERE A LAUGHING STOCK ALREADY WAIT TILL THEY SEE LANARKSHIRE NEED TO HOLD DOOS TILL A FIXED TIME,, HA HA HA AND ADDING THEY WOULD NEED A GOOD REASON IS EVEN FUNNIER , ONLY THING IS IM NO LAUGHING ABOUT IT
Guest Gareth Rankin Posted October 21, 2006 Report Posted October 21, 2006 Tammy if their is bad weather forecast for the lib time, then the pigeons will be liberated A.S.A.P this was what was passed at the agm or where you sleeping again. ;D ;D
ALF Posted October 21, 2006 Report Posted October 21, 2006 Tammy if their is bad weather forecast for the lib time, then the pigeons will be liberated A.S.A.P this was what was passed at the agm or where you sleeping again. ;D ;D He couldnae see what was going on coz he was sitting behind you :P ;D ;D ;D
Guest WINGS 04 Posted October 21, 2006 Report Posted October 21, 2006 THERE IS NO WAY THAT THE BIRDS WILL BE HELD TILL 6THE RIGHT TIME AS IT IS UP TO THE CONVOYER HOW IS TO SAY THAT HE DID NOT GET IT RIGHT IF YOU CAN'Y GET OUT OF BED YOU SHOULD NOT KEEP PIGEONS FOR RACING

Guest TAMMY_1 Posted October 21, 2006 Report Posted October 21, 2006 Tammy if their is bad weather forecast for the lib time, then the pigeons will be liberated A.S.A.P this was what was passed at the agm or where you sleeping again. ;D ;D NO BUT YOU MUST HAVE BEEN WHAT WAS PASSED WAS IT WOULD BE DONE AT CONTROLLERS DISCRETION NOTHING WAS MENTIONED ABOUT PUTTING THEM UP AS EARLY AS POSSIBLE. CONTROLLERS DISCRETION
ALF Posted October 21, 2006 Report Posted October 21, 2006 We should not have voted on this at the meeting as there are proposals in at the agm that concern this anyway!!!!
Guest Gareth Rankin Posted October 21, 2006 Report Posted October 21, 2006 Tammy CONTROLLERS DISCRETION = up as early as possible if bad weather moving in.
Guest TAMMY_1 Posted October 21, 2006 Report Posted October 21, 2006 We should not have voted on this at the meeting as there are proposals in at the agm that concern this anyway!!!! this was the race meeting and it should have been voted on here, and what ever comes up at the agm should not be allowed to have any bearing on what was passed and if they know something was going to come up at the agm that would make a difference to the race programme they should have brought it up then,, they cannae even put the race points down correctly, bishop auckland no its witton castle, thirsk where , selby no its bubwith, grantham no thats milton mowbray whats going on with them, i am all for changes alf but what are they playing at ?
ALF Posted October 21, 2006 Report Posted October 21, 2006 I agree with what your saying Tammy but it was pointed out at the race meeting that there were proposals in at the agm that could have a bearing on that vote..
Guest TAMMY_1 Posted October 21, 2006 Report Posted October 21, 2006 Tammy CONTROLLERS DISCRETION = up as early as possible if bad weather moving in. GO AWAY
Guest Posted October 21, 2006 Report Posted October 21, 2006 common sense needs to prevail, if the wetaher is ok and is forcast ok for most of the day they should hold them until a reasonable time, this season i have seen my birds coming home 3 times, and that was only because there was a hold over. but hey ho, as someone said most people dont work so the majoritywill rule. thats life, but doesnt life suck?
NANCYVIEWLOFTS Posted October 21, 2006 Report Posted October 21, 2006 yes the weather has got to be ONE of the governing factors but if all feds start to liberate early then we will be facing clashing like when they ars liberated later the RACE CONTROLLERS should be the ones to decide when they should go
