used to get it at some of the larger pet stores,

u can get it at the saw mills or some joiners yard but u have to be careful as u can get some which come from treated wood, and if it gets in ur drinkers could cause problems.

I used to get mine from the local animal feed store it comes in big compressed bales.

Thank You, I will try a local sawmill.  All the pet shops around here, want silly money for a little bag of the stuff!!!.

I would also be very careful of the fine particles going in the pigeons eyes

We get chips at the feed Mill, they come in a 30 pound bale, saw dust is to fine ,makes a mess and pirds can inhale it

at the moment using the heavy type shavings got from the agricultural store, its mostly used for the horses,  , marked on the bale dust free??  but it is quite good really
