UNIKON TIMING

See the British Homing World is full of adverts for their timing systems, is this because they know it is now coming to fanciers in England, also some trap suppliers are also advertising new stall traps compatable with Unikon pads, not long in making their move are they ?

If you have any say in the choice of system Alf, I would definately recommend the Unikon, I've used it for 5 seasons now and I can't find any fault with it.

Wise choice Alf, you don't have to unplug the whole clock to take it in to the club, just take the module out.

and before anyone says anything about timing in after the module has been read at the club, it can't be done,  Once the race data is loaded onto the computer it knocks all the race data from the modulE, so if any birds come after they will be recorded as TRAINERS

Linda just wondering if the latest advert from unicon overides your above statement,

this is from this weeks BHW,Even without the pocket clock the unicon loft clock will still clock your birds,so if you are away at another club with your pocket clock you do not have to worry about missing a single bird from another race.

Posted

Yes Tony, the birds will still clock and show on the display, just as a figute, say 2 birds come back the figure 2 will show on the display BUT, when you put themodule back in the data will show the bird ring number on the display AS A TRAINER, not involved in the race as the race data with the birds ring number has been deleted when the clock was entered into the computer

Posted

If you have birds entered in another race, which hasn't been knocked off at the club concerned you will see the race code as entered by the club the ring number and the clocked timing

In practise as it happened to us about 5 weeks ago,

We have three races each week one from 125 The C Race and A and B from the given distance for the week.

We timed all 5 birds in from the C race

everyone timed in very well from the A Race from 300 Miles

Some flyers did not have birds back from the B race including me but we took our clocks in for reading on the first day when the C and A races were calculated and a result printed out. all the pigeon data from the C and A races were removed from the clocks as a result had been pubished.  BUT being as the 300 is a two day race the data for the B race was left untouched in the clock until everyone was ready after the second day to time in.

I timed two birds in while Steve had the module at the club, it showed the figure two on the display, when the module was put back in, the display showed a late bird from the A race as a trainer, but my one and only B bird entry had also timed in and it showed Mountain Home B the birds number and the clocking time

Hope this explains it

LINDA WHAT WOULD HAPPEN THEN IF I WAS WAITING FOR BIRDS TO RETURN FROM SAY A 450 MILE  RACE,IT TURNED OUT TO BE A HARD RACE AND SAY I HAD A BIRD ARRIVE LATE AT NIGHT,I,VE GONE TO THE CLUB TO GET IT CHECKED WHILE I,M AWAY ANOTHER BIRD COMES,YOU SAY THAT WHEN THE CLOCK IS HOOKED UP TO THE COMPUTER IT WILL DELETE THE REST OF THAT RACE,S IMFORMATION,SO WOULD THAT MEAN MY SECOND BIRD WOULD NOT COUNT AND WHAT IF I WANTED TO CLOCK IN FURTHER BIRDS ON THE SECOND DAY.
