pigeonpete Posted November 25, 2006 Report Posted November 25, 2006 hi paul very much depends on ventilation, but in i would personally have no more than 6 pairs per 6 ft section unless you got an aviary remember its not quantity its quality, the less birds you can keep per sq ft the healthier they will be, i learnt the hard way mate ;)
Guest Posted November 25, 2006 Report Posted November 25, 2006 THANKS ALL FOR YUR HELP NOT 12 pair for old birds or 30 y'birds
PIGEON_MAN Posted November 25, 2006 Report Posted November 25, 2006 Paul are you going to be housing stock birds in this loft as well as the youngsters off them,or will all the birds be flying out.
peterpau Posted November 25, 2006 Report Posted November 25, 2006 No more than 24 max. I start with 30yb's in my 10x6
paul l Posted November 25, 2006 Author Report Posted November 25, 2006 IM HOPEING TO HAVE THEM ALL FLY OUT
jimmy white Posted November 25, 2006 Report Posted November 25, 2006 according to david palmer a half cubic metre per bird if well ventilated so if your loft is 3 meteres long[ 9ft ]and 2 meteres broad[ 6ft] and 2 meters high[ 6ft] so if you multiplied the 3 by 2 by 2 = 12 thats per cubic metre so 24 for a half cubic metre per bird with the extra foot in length would, give you another 1and a bit cubic metors another 3 birds, 4 at most which would mean according to david palmer bhw vet 28 birds as long as theres good ventilation :) and i thought a metor was something you put a shilling in ;D ;D ;D
jimmy white Posted November 27, 2006 Report Posted November 27, 2006 a five pence ,,,now, p,p ;D ;D ;D just giving my age away ;D
paul l Posted November 27, 2006 Author Report Posted November 27, 2006 thanks all for yur help once again paul
