How many of you take the time to report winners from a stud or another fancier.

It frustrates me when i here by chance that our pigeons are winning, it makes running a stud very difficult when you dont get to here which lines are doing the business.

On saturday a Top Flyer mentioned to me that a son of our Hero was breeding scores of Club and Fed winners into the Black Country, i asked him why he didnt call me he shrugged his shoulders.

Theres many more instances only this week a guy called and ordered a pigeon, when i asked why he said he already had one and would like another, i said why do you want another he said that hen had bred 7x1st Prizewinners in her very first year!!! But again he had no real plans to tell us. That means that 2 of our National pigeons are g-sire/dam to 7 x 1sts that makes alot of differance.

I agree stuart it is always nice to hear when your birds are doing well for other people, but it could also help you decide what you keep at the end of the season if you knew how they where doing for other people. Not everyone flies on the same sytem so your birds may do better for other people.

I always make a point of telling others when I have had a good pigeon from them, after all they deserve some of the credit - they bred it.

common courtesy says u should let them know if  the birds are doin well, even if u instruct them not to name u as doing well with their birds, at least let them know init!!!.

i looked through an old louella stud book(lefebre dhaenens to be precise with old photos of the birds ect) couple weeks back actually and they had a advertisement about ringing and telling them of there winners and cos of the courtesy of doing so they would breed you a pigeon to go with it free of charge!

It gives me great pleasure when you get good reports back about your pigeons.Last year i gave away on this site 20+ youngbirds from my race team and got 2 winners reported back to me and one bird had 4 or 5 prizes.I got great pleasure from this as i have only been flying for three years myself,i didnt here back from a few people that i gave birds to,would have been nice to know.

Louella's idea is probably good and worked for them but let's not forget how many birds they may breed as against the likes of stuarts stud, i've only had the doos coming up two years but whenever one of mine has done well in my eyes i've always informed the guys that were good enough to gift them to me because i was starting up, I'll name them although i know they will pm me and said i should,nt of but at the end of the day without their generosity i would,nt be racing, Greengrass, wings 04, and Jimmy white all offered me birds that have given me something to go on with , and once my wife loosens the purse strings we will go to you stuart as Karl (greengrass) can't speak highly enough off you.

all the best

I think your bang on Stuart, i would certainly like to know if any of my birds were winning else-where.

                                            BUT

I think the reason people do not tell studs is they may be worried if they came to you or who-ever and asked for birds of a certain line, they may think the price would go up on performances.

Only MY opinion.

One of the pleasures of being chair of The Help a Beginner Programme is hearing from beginners that they have done well with birds which have been kindly donated to the programme. For two years now one of my club mates has sent so many boxes of birds out to beginners that he's left himself a bit short on his young bird team.  Wonderful to see the big smile on his face when he hears that his birds have done well for the beginners. Last year a bird he sent to a beginner in wisconsin won Two Digest awards,
