does anyone know what the record is for a pigeon flying 1000 miles in to scotland,, i know years ago it was held by moffat of mount skip , midlothian, then at one time w pentland broke it of easthouses, mid lothian , but at that time it was about a week i think , but would be interested to find what the record is now and who holds it

Alan Reaside - Irvine gets a few mentions in Squills for 1000+ miles, Palomos 1010 miles 43 hrs 56 minutes, and 1013 miles in 1975, velocity 675, W G Davidson, Stevenston, Ayrshire in 1960,  Barcelona 1033 miles 8 days 23 hours 50 minutes

looks like alan raeside  that holds the record [mind you its an old squills im looking at],, but all gallant birds that have did this [and not many]

Wilson Noble holds record for longest flying pigeon in to scotland not sure but think it was from rome it flew from. Sir Lancelot was its name

Longest flying pigeon into scotland in 2007 squills book is  1173 miles,flew from palamos to wick in 1976 belonged to Rosie and Bruce.
