Hi

Some baa broke into my ebay site last night and placed a hookie motor bike for sale for cash money Have BT real time security updated every morning

Ebay apologised and removed the item but claims my password was used

Spent half the day changing passwords and usernames

Sent BT a nasty asking what the h*** do I pay you baas for

Added a couple of extra little goodies for protection but why if Iam paying BT

I thought my machine was secure

SO YOU BE CAREFUL OUT THERE

Cheers

My wife ordered a few things from ebay with a visa card, someone somehow stole the card details and ordered 180 pounds worth of dj equipment to a dodgy address, she did get the cash back from her bank, but be carefull when ordering from some sites.Make sure you have the correct virus softwhere.

Anyone who hasnt got virus softwhere can download it for free.

Go to this forums

WEBSITE NEWS AND VIEWS SECTION

look for the thread VIRUS SOFTWHERE

I asked the webmaster some advice on some softwhere and he added the links to download the softwhere needed.Have a look its free.

i have always wanted to join e-bay but afraid to give card details, i thought about just having a bank card with only a few pounds in it so if they get it they will not get much, this would be a debit card account, u can only spend what u have in it.

trouble is fifer you only hear the bad stories, millions of pounds are spent online. give it ago! if you need any advice on setting up etc give me a shout!

Happened to me a few months back - Racing cycles worth 8 grand was put on my account...Aol is gone and i'm with NTL who update all 24/7 my security & Virus programme. I now have a 16 digit/letter password.

did it actually show up when you logged into your account? or was a email just sent to you saying that it had been put on?

The few dealings I've had with e-bay I've used paypal, your card number isn't given to the seller and I've had no problems

IVE JUST HAD TO CHANGE MY PASSWORDS AS SOMEONE GOT MINE I ONLY KNEW WHEN E-BAY E-MAILED ME   :-/ :-/ :-/ :-/ :-/

Hi Gangster

Any email from ebay you should NOT open the link

Go to ebay through your address bar and open my messages

If they have sent you a email it will be there

I logged in and checked my bidding and i saw 5 showing against my active link; the air was blue when i saw what was on there and the cheeky b88888d had put an email link so the bidders could get in touch with him. Thnakfully it was all solved by ebay within 10 mins.

I personally have used ebay a lot and never had a problem.  But like Linda I use paypal and then only with a credit card that has a $500 limit.  But ebay has right on there site to only do business with persons or businesses that have lots of good rating..  Beware is always the right way to go.  Ed
